TRANSFER INFORMATION SESSIONS & CAMPUS TOURS:Thursday Afternoons* The Transfer Thursday information session and optional campus tour will include an overview of the transfer process in a group presentation by a Transfer Admissions counselor, and an optional campus tour led by a current UNC Charlotte student. The information session will last approximately 30 minutes, and the campus tour will last about 60 minutes. General information sessions are offered Mondays through Fridays and select Saturdays. Visit admissions.uncc.edu/visit for available dates and times.*Reservations are required. To register for an available tour date and time, log in to your Future 49er Web portal at admissions.uncc.edu.

Transfer Admission Requirements: For students under the age of 24 at the time of enrollment at UNC Charlotte: » Must have met these Minimum Course Requirements and have passed the following high school classes:
» 4 units of English » 4 units of math, which include Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and an
advanced math » 3 units of science (biological science, physical science and a science with
a lab) » 2 units of social studies including one unit of US History » 2 units of the same foreign language
» 24 transferable semester hours from a regionally accredited institution. If you have less than 24 transferable hours you must meet freshman high school GPA and SAT/ACT requirements for admission.
» 2.0 cumulative college GPA for all courses as calculated by the UNC Charlotte Undergraduate Admissions Office.
For students who do not meet the Minimum Course Requirements, please contact the UNC Charlotte Admissions Office for more information.
For students 24 years or older at the time of enrollment at UNC Charlotte: » 24 transferable semester hours from a regionally accredited institution. » 2.0 cumulative college GPA for all courses as calculated by the UNC Charlotte Undergraduate Admissions Office.

have transferred from other colleges and universities across the country.

that have been transferred to UNC Charlotte from other institutions.
» Once you apply, we will officially evaluate your transfer course credit and
you will receive an official transfer credit report with your admissions

Consider your education tuition and fees:
Information on direct costs, as well as thoughtful planning by families, can be helpful in dealing with this essential part of your college experience.
Tuition and fees are billed by the semester for fall and spring terms and by credit hour for summer terms. Twelve or more credit hours are considered full-time for undergraduate students.

Students have the option to enroll in a UNC Charlotte Payment Plan each fall and spring term to spread out your tuition and fees, on-campus housing and dining, and other charges billed to your student account into several smaller payments that best meets your needs. Arrange for Financial Aid.
Financial Aid is primarily in the form of student and parent loans plus Pell Grants
for lower-income families. We encourage you to complete the Free Application for
Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine any assistance which may be available.
You can complete the online application by visiting www.fafsa.ed.gov as early as
January 1st. Please be sure to include our school code on the FAFSA so that we will
receive your application. Our school code is 002975. The priority date for applying
for Fall is March 1st.
The Office of Student Financial Aid is available to assist you. They can provide
information and advice concerning federal and state loans, grants, and part-time
employment. We encourage you to visit their website at finaid.uncc.edu or call
(704) 687-5504.

The Office of Student Financial Aid maintains
a scholarship search database to help students
locate and apply for scholarships on campus.

Frequently asked questionsNext steps:How do I send my transcripts? You are responsible for contacting each of the schools you previously attended to request that an official transcript be sent to the UNC Charlotte Admissions Office. You should monitor the status of your application and receipt of supporting documents via the Future 49er Web Portal.
When can I register for classes?New students will register for classes during SOAR. You will be unable to register for classes until you have attended one of the transfer SOAR sessions.
How do I know who my advisor is? You will initially be advised at SOAR by an academic advisor in your department. After SOAR, the college to which you are admitted may assign a different academic advisor to you.
Can I park on campus?Yes, all students are able to park on campus. You will purchase a parking sticker from Parking Services or online at pats.uncc.edu. UNC Charlotte offers resident permits for students who live on campus and commuter permits for students who do not live on campus.
Is on campus housing available to transfer students?Transfer students are allowed and encouraged to live on campus. We offer several housing options to choose from: high-rise residence halls, suites, and apartments. We encourage you to apply for housing as soon as you have been accepted to the university at housing.uncc.edu. If you would rather live off campus, you may find this website helpful for your search: offcampushousing.uncc.edu
Am I required to have a computer? Only Engineering and School of Architecture students are required to have a computer, although all students would benefit from owning their own computers for projects ranging from typing papers to recording videos and watching lectures. The NinerTech Computer Store, located in the Student Union, offers discounts to newly admitted students on computers, software, and accessories: ninertech.com

Next steps after being admitted to UNC Charlotte.
After being admitted to UNC Charlotte, you will receive an acceptance packet providing you with valuable information that will guide you through the registration process. This packet will contain your UNC Charlotte student ID number which you will need to complete the next steps: » View your Transfer Credit Report online in your Future 49er Web Portal. Your Transfer Credit Report will be available when you are admitted to show exactly which courses transferred to UNC Charlotte and the credits that you received for those courses. After you log in, click on Check Status, My Application, then Transfer Credit Report.
» Please be sure to send updated transcripts if you complete courses after being admitted. This will ensure that you have the most up-to-date transfer credit evaluation possible when classes start.
» Attend Transfer Student, Orientation, Advising, and Registration (SOAR). The one-day Transfer SOAR program is designed to assist you with your transition to UNC Charlotte. At Transfer SOAR, you will meet with an academic advisor from your major to plan your class schedule. You will also take any necessary placement exams, buy books, obtain your student ID card, purchase your parking permit, etc. Most importantly, you will register for your classes at SOAR. After you have been admitted, visit soar.uncc.edu to sign up for a transfer SOAR date that is convenient for you.
» 49er Express (express.uncc.edu) provides students easy access to a number of services - accessing student email, registering for classes, checking status of financial aid, checking grades, receiving announcements, and viewing your tuition bill.
» Immunization records: NC state law requires that students submit a certificate of immunization prior to enrollment. Get your form at studenthealth.uncc.edu.
» Housing: If you are planning to live on campus please visit housing.uncc.edu for a list of housing options and the housing application.
