Whatsa galaxy?
A galaxy is, by definition, any large collection ofstars that can be recognized as distinct phisicalentity.
Galaxies contain varying numbers of planets, starsystem, star clusters and types of interstellar clouds. Many galaxies are believed to have Supermassiveblack holes at their center.

Types of galaxies There are diffrent types of galaxies:

Spiral galaxies A spiral galaxy is a certain kind of galaxy consist of
a flat, rotating disc containing stars, gas and dust,
and a central concentration of stars known as the
bulge.
Spiral galaxies are named for the spiral structures
that extend from the center into the disk.
There's also another type or structure of spiralgalaxy, barred spiral galaxies: is a spiral galaxywith
a central bar-shaped structure composed of stars.

Elliptical galaxies An elliptical galaxyis a type of galaxy having an
approximately ellipsoidal shape and a smooth.
They are spherical or ovoid masses of stars,
starved of star-making gases. The smallest known
elliptical galaxy is about one-tenth the size of the
Milky Way.
The motion of stars in elliptical galaxies ispredominantly radial, unlike the disks of spiral
galaxies, which are dominated by rotation

Irregular galaxies The shape of an irregular galaxy is uncommon they
are often chaotic in appearance, unlike a spiral or
an elliptical galaxy. Collectively they are thought to
make up about a quarter of all galaxies.
Some irregular galaxies were once spiral or
elliptical galaxies but were deformed by disorders in
gravitational pull.

Types of irregular galaxies
There are three major types of irregular galaxies:
Irr-1: Is an irregular galaxy that features somestructure but not enough to place it cleanly into theHubble sequence.
Irr-2: Is an irregular galaxy that does not appear tofeature any structure that can place it into the Hubblesequence.
Irr-dl: This type of galaxy is now thought to beimportant to understand the overall evolution ofgalaxies, as they tend to have a low level ofmetallicity and relatively high levels of gas, and arethought to be similar to the earliest galaxies thatpopulated the Universe.
