Building A Solid Foundation!
OIBC believes in building a strong foundation for
the future, both with regard to theory, practice and
personal integrity! This philosophy is reflected in
the individual courses, as well as through the
worship, practice and fellowship experience during
the first year of OIBC.
During the first year of the program, the OIBC
students are provided with a solid theoretical and
practical foundation needed for leadership today.
The students will take courses in key fields such as
biblical studies, church history and theology,
practices of ministry, personal and cultural
development and other vital aspects of ministry.
Some examples of courses are Leadership, Ministry
& the Church, Bible Interpretation, History &
Doctrines of the Church, Marriage & Family from a
Biblical & Cross-cultural Perspective, Cross-cultural
communication, Church Ethics & Society, just to
mention a few.
In addition all students will choose two areas of
practical concentration, called Ministry Workshops.
These include Preaching & Teaching, Leadership,
Music, Media, Counseling, Evangelism, Drama &
Dance, Choir/Singing, Children & Youth Ministry,
and function as introductory guidance to second
year areas of practical concentration (tracks and
specializations). During the first year, the students
also have some church/organizational praxis.
