1926.1403 Selection of manufacturer or employer

procedures.

While assembling or disassembling equipment compliance must be maintained with all applicable manufacturer or employer procedures. Employer procedures must be developed by a qualified person and meet the requirements in 1926.1406. When synthetic slings are used the sling manufacturers instructions must be followed.

1926.1406 Assembly/Disassembly employer procedures-general

requirements• Must be developed by a competent person• Must position employees involved in the

work so as to minimize their exposure to potential hazards.

• Must provide adequate support and stability for the equipment and all of its parts.

• Must prevent unintended movement or collapse of any part of the equipment.

1926.1412 Inspections

• Post assembly inspection must verify that the equipment is configured correctly and functioning properly prior to operation.
