Pecoraro’s Barber Shop By Brooke R. Fran Peocraro is opening a barber shop to bring back an old fashioned barber shop on May 2 in Medina Ohio. He wanted to make a shop that makes men comfortable. He would like the parlor to have an old fashioned atmosphere. “Life has taken the turn…. it’s not like that anymore”, he said. He did this because when he was 19 years old and not doing anything else, he decided to go to school to learn to cut hair which at first he did not enjoy, but he went anyways. Before the day he opens the doors, he will be adding some color to the walls and putting up black and white photos to make it more of an old fashioned feeling.

It's largely business as usual in communities along the Mississippi River. However, Capital Region companies along the Mississippi River are watching the swelling water closely as it inches toward a historic high. The Port of Greater Baton Rouge Executive Director Jay Hardman says restrictions on barge and vessel traffic are thus far having a minimal effect on port activity. Hardman says the U.S. Coast Guard will likely add restrictions as the river rises, but he doesn't expect them to have a major impact. "Some of our tenants may be seeing some effect due to the restrictions, but we're pretty well built out over here for high water," Hardman says. "I think we'll be fine."

Meanwhile, representatives from both Baton Rouge riverboat casinos, Belle of Baton Rouge and Hollywood Casino Baton Rouge, say there are no plans for operational changes just yet. ExxonMobil has activated its flood preparedness plan for its chemical plant and refinery along the river, says spokeswoman Stephanie Cargile. At this point, Cargile says, sandbags are being piled up, but the river has not impacted operations.

The Mississippi River is currently forecast to top out May 23 at 47.5 feet at Baton Rouge —12.5 feet above flood stage. It would be an all-time high, surpassing the 1927 flood, which saw the river rise to 47.3 feet. L evees along Baton Rouge range from 47.3 to 51 feet, and the city-parish has plans to sandbag and otherwise heighten low spots.

The movie Thor is produced by Paramount Pictures and was created by Marvel Industries. Thor is a action packed film that has a weird twist. I would give it 10 out of 10 stars. Thor is a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to earth and forced to live among the humans and he is powerless because his father took his powers before he banished him from as god the place he is from. Thor is a must see film and it’s in theaters

near you so you should go see the movie your self. I wish that I could tell you more about the movie Thor but I don’t want to spoil it. By Chris B.

Twenty of twenty-seven in total record, tied with the Phillies and Anaheim Angels for the top in the majors. The Indians lead the Royals 4-1/ 2 games, The Tigers by 7-1/2, the Twins and Whites Sox 0-10 both. “They’re some people that don’t believe in team chemistry. They think that it is only talent. Well Indians got both,” veteran shortstop Adam Everett says. If Indians keep it up then big things are in their future.

NFL News By Koree H.

On March 12, 2011, the owner of the NFL (National Football League) Roger Goodell reported that a lockout had been put on the NFL. A lockout is when teams and players may not interact with other teams or players. They also may not enter their practice facilities or do anything that had to do with practice. It is going on because owners would like to make more money and extend the season to 18 games to make more money. The players would like to have better medical staffs and things that will help for recovering from injuries. They are also having a disagreement on how to split $9 billion between everyone. Since they can’t come to an agreement they have put a lockout on the NFL until further notice.
