Locations These free clinics take place in Calexico and Mexicali to help children in underserved Latino communities that struggle with healthcare disparities. Some disparities include access to healthcare, health insurance coverage, and quality of care. Specialty Centers Center for Sports Medicine OIC specializes in helping young athletes with injuries and help them get back to normal. They address all aspects of the patient and tailor the care to the individual. They do so by: - Providing expert clinical care - Making sure young athletes understand what it will take to return to their activity and the process to get there - Helping prevent further injury or re-injury Scoliosis Center OIC offers a combination of leading-edge technology with expertise in pediatric scoliosis. OIC is home to some of the world’s leading experts in the field of pediatric orthopedics, including scoliosis. Center for Cerebral Palsy The Center for Cerebral Palsy at UCLA/OIC is dedicated to improving the physical ability and independence of all children diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Services Provided OIC offers children unparalleled care with pediatric orthopaedic specialties. For over 100 years, OIC doctors and staff have led the field of pediatric orthopedics with uncompromising confidence. Target Population Children outside of the United States (from various countries) regardless of financial situation. Through this program 150,000 children have been served and treated by board certified surgeons at OIC. Services Offered at Calexico Clinics - Diagnostic x-rays - Teleradiology - Assistance with Medical Visas - Immediate consultation with a quality Physician - 100% free care (travel, surgeries, lab tests, etc.) Next Event Dates - 2020 December 4 – Calexico December 5 - Mexicali Calexico Clinics OIC has an ongoing project called the International Children’s Program (ICP). The ICP seeks to help children from over 15 countries such as Nigeria, Tanzania, and the Philippines. One part of the ICP is the Calexico Clinics.
