Each slide presents you with a different component of the horror genre for you to explore.

You should take notes in bullet point form so you have evidence of your exploration.

For each slide, you will be presented with a number of activities, each with a point weighting. The higher the point weighting, the more complex the task and the more detailed your notes will need to be.

Your aim is to gather as many points as possible in the time you are given.

Activity Aim: To find out about the origins of horror tales. Some of the activities you could choose are: Discover the origins of gargoyles and their uses (2 points) Read about the Yiddish Golem and find a story about one (3 points) Locate and retell an Arabian folklore tale about ghouls (4 points)

Find out about the Curse of Turan and at least 2 events associated

with the curse (4 points)

Read about Nostradamus and find out if any of his predictions have

Horror has different forms, called subgenres. Find out about 4 subgenres of
