ORIENTATION FOR M.C.D SCHOOL STUDENTS
FACILITATOR: Ms. Anita Prakash, Ms. Elizabeth Antony, Ms. Deepti Landesh, Ms.
Yashaushwani
An orientation program was conducted for students of M.C.D. school on 23 April, 2019 to
motivate them to participate in UDAAN group of the school i.e. the community service group.
They were made aware of the importance and advantages of seeking education from community
service students of the school such as clarification of fundamental knowledge, social skills
training, participation in school functions and activities, coping up with school syllabus,
performing interactive worksheets etc. Our students had presented poems and shared their
personal experiences of educating students in the previous year. The students were very happy
and showed enthusiasm in participating in UDAAN group.
NUKKAD NAATAK PROGRAM ON SWACHH BHARAT ABHIYAN FOR STUDENTS OF
MCD SCHOOL

Holy child students performed a Nukkad Naatak on Swachh Bharat to sensitize MCD school
students about the importance of hygiene and to spread awareness regarding ways to maintain
good hygiene not only externally but also internally on 1 August, 2019. The students were guided
to maintain hygiene on bodily as well as environment level. On bodily level they were told about
washing hands before and after intake of food, going to restroom etc., taking bath daily, wearing
washed clothes etc. At the environment level, they were sensitized to keep their surroundings
clean and use washrooms for sanitation purpose. All the students praised the act. An oath was
also taken by the students on maintaining good health and hygiene.
ORIENTATION PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS OF PANKH GROUP
Facilitators: Ms. Yashaushwani, Ms. Simmi Abraham
An orientation program was conducted for the students of PANKH group that study at Holy Child
after school hours on 1 August 2019. The program focused on making students aware about
health and hygiene and importance of moral values. The students were shown a Nukkad Naatak
on importance of hygiene and interactive videos were shown to highlight the importance of time
and good health. The students were also made aware of the significance of respect and how to
respect everyone and oneself. At the end, the students also performed a brain gym activity that
is useful in enhancing concentration.
Celebration of International Literacy Day
Facilitators: Ms. Yashaushwani, Ms. Babneet Kaur
Students of community service were invited to visit Pravasi Bhartiya Kendra for Panel discussion
on International Literacy Day on 7 September, 2019. Chief Guest for the occasion was Smt. Rina
Ray, Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy, MHRD. Students were made aware
of the strategies and schemes being implemented to bring up the literacy rate in India. They
also got an opportunity to meet and interact with students of eminent schools like Blue Bells
International School, Amity International School and Springdales School. They exchanged their
views and response to being a member of DSLP (Delhi School Literacy Program) along with its
functionality and approach followed in their schools.
