THEME OF THE CONFERENCEThe theme of the conference is “SMART, SUSTAINABLE & RESILIENT Civil Infrastructure Development”. The term “SMART” can be described as a “system which has intrinsic sensor, actuator and control mechanisms whereby it is capable of sensing a stimulus, responding to it, and reverting to its original state after the stimulus is removed.” The term “SUSTAINABLE” refers to the Brundtland Commission’s definition of a sustainable society as one that meets the needs of the present without sacrificing the ability of future generations to meet their needs. Implementation of this broad vision requires holistic consideration of the environmental, economic, and social impacts on local, regional, and global systems by Civil Engineering professionals. The term “RESILIENT” refers to the “ability of such infrastructure systems (including their interconnected ecosystems and social systems) to absorb disturbance and still retain their basic function and structural capacity.” Research papers / any industrial activity addressing these aspects in different fields of Civil Engineering, such as, structural, transportation, geotechnical, water resource & environmental engineering, construction & Management, natural disaster management, green infrastructure, waste management and landfills, artificial intelligence, etc. are invited to contribute.
VENUE OF THE CONFERENCEThe venue of the conference is Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, THE NORTHCAP UNIVERSITY (formerly ITM University, Gurgaon). The University was founded in the year 1996, to promote excellence in Technical and Management education by Educate India Society, registered under the Registration of Societies Act of 1860.
