The last 12 years have seen a dozen shows packed with all thelatest offerings from the motor industry and a variety of differentshow hosts. How many of these do you remember?

1999 Host: Chris GoffeyAround 6,000 people attendedthe first outdoor motorshow inEastbourne at Sussex Downs andPark College. The show washeld on the football pitches nextto the hospital, more recentlyused for show parking.

2000 Host: Chris GoffeyYear two of the show saw bothvisitor and exhibitor numbersgrow. The EFMDA used marketresearch from year one of theevent, to improve the show,including introducing more newcar cavalcades in the main arena.

2001 Host: Chris GoffeyBy 2001 the Motorshow hadestablished itself as a regular onthe summer events calendar.Show host Chris Goffey arrivedwith a broken neck but like a trueprofessional the show went on!

2002 Host: Tiff NeedellBy 2002 the show had grown insize and relocated to the current sitein front of Park College. This gaveadditional exhibition space alongwith badly-needed extra parking.

2003 Host: Richard HammondThe year of the hamster! TheEFMDA choose Richard Hammondas the new show host and conse-quently see visitor numbers soar.

2004 Host: Richard HammondFriday-Ad sponsor the Motorshowfor the first time. The show isnow the largest outdoor show ofits kind in the UK and is alsomentioned on BBC2’s Top Gearfor the first time!
