Progress is a process. Great trees take time to
grow. Great ideas take time to show. One day at
a time we live. One block at a time we build. One step at a time we move. Some rush and
crash; others sit and rot. You! Move. Move by
faith. Take that step. Lay that block. Though
the vision tarries, it shall surely come to pass.Dont give up! Its not over. Jehovah is your
guide. Press on, friendyoure getting there!!!

Role of Managers in OB Henry Mintzberg, conducted a survey on
five executives to determine what
managers do while carrying out their jobs
He concluded that managers perform 10different and highly related roles that are
attributable to their jobs
He then categorized these ten roles intothree broad categories i.e., interpersonal
role, informational role and decisional role.

Human Resources (Supportive)
Approach:
In 1924, Elton Mayo, identified and carried out
some experiments to analyze the importance of
human relations at work.It is from here that even OB came into the
scenario, as OB also studies about human
behaviour at work.
The Human Resource Approach is concerned
with the growth and development of people,
because people are the central resource of any
organization. 31

Argue that the external environment and
many aspects of the internal environment
influence the structure of the organization, aswell as the process of management.

Systems Approach:
The organization is also a system
consisting of various sub-systems such as
Human Resource department, marketing, finance, production department etc.
Systems theorists describe the organization
as open to its external environment, receiving certain inputs from the
environment such as human resources, raw
materials 34

Systems Approach:
Engaging in various operations to
transform those raw materials into finished
products, and finally producing theoutputs into a finished product that is
ready to be sent to the environment for
consumption.The modern theorists view organizations
as open systems surrounded by their
external environment. 35
