As stated in Article I, Section 15-1, “All houses and buildingslocated in the corporate limits of

the city shall conspicuouslydisplay the number assigned tosuch house or building by thecity administrator. Suchnumbers shall be displayed in amanner so that they shall beclearly visible to the public froma position on the nearest publicthoroughfare to the building.

The City of Hinesville is amember of the Clean Community

Association of America and thussubscribes to the effort of keeping our city a clean and healthy place to live. The city spends a large amount of money each year in beautification of city property and in picking updry trash and garbage. Eachcitizen needs to do his part ininsuring that his individual

parcels of property are well

maintained.

Article I, Sec. 11-5Prohibited Conditions .

This ordinance makes itunlawful forhomeowners/tenants to

allow garbage, trash,

debris, weeds, vines,grass or othervegetation, whether cutor growing to accumulateon their property.

These conditions wouldlikely become a breedingplace for snakes,rodents, flies, gnats,mosquitoes or otherharmful or dangerouscreatures or insects, orbe likely to cause

personal injury orproperty damage byhuman illness or fire, orwhich may become ahealth hazard.

*Old tires and stagnant water are nuisances and a breeding place for

mosquitoes.

Article I, Section 15-3states that all persons incharge of real estate arerequired to keep the areabetween the roadway or

sidewalk and their

property free fromweeds, and properlymowed.

Sec. 12-33 addressesStagnant water. It isunlawful to allow a pond,pool, barrel, tin can,vehicle tire, or anycontainer to collect andstagnate. In the event itis not practical to drainor fill such pond, thesame must be effectually

treated against mosquitobreeding to thesatisfaction of the healthofficer.

Section 14-96 states thatit is unlawful for you toplace or leave outsideany building or dwelling,

any dilapidated furniture,appliance, machinery,equipment, buildingmaterial, junked motorvehicles or other itemswhich are either in apartially rusted, wrecked,

junked, dismantled orinoperative condition,and which are not

completely enclosedwithin a building ordwelling.

A permitted homeoccupation will be ahome telephone serviceonly. No customers willbe allowed to come tothe home for services.

You are not permitted tohave a sign on yourproperty to advertise ahome-based business.

Home Daycare Centershave several restrictions.If you are consideringopening a Home-basedDaycare, you must check with City Hall by calling876-3564.
