Page 1 of 5 Ordering Microfilms With Online Film Ordering, you may order microfilms and microfiche listed in the catalog on Family- Search.org. These microfilms are then on loan to a designated family history center. To place an order, you need either a FamilySearch or LDS Account. The following loan types are available: • Extended Microfiche Loan: No return date. • Short-term Microfilm Loan: 90-day loan (60-day loan period with an additional 30 days for shipping to the center). The 90 days start once the film is marked as “shipped.” You will recieve an email when the film is available at the center. If you do not renew the loan, the microfilm is returned after the 90 days. (At some time in the future, short-term loans will no longer be available.) • Extended Microfilm Loan: No return date. 1. Go to http://familysearch.org/ films. 2. If needed, at the top left, select the language. 3. At the top right, click Sign In. 4. Enter your username and pass- word, and click Sign In. 5. Under Film Number, enter the microfilm or microfiche number of the item you want to order, and click Search.

Ordering Microfilms

With Online Film Ordering, you may order microfilms and microfiche listed in the catalog on Family-Search.org. These microfilms are then on loan to a designated family history center. To place an order, you need either a FamilySearch or LDS Account.

The following loan types are available:• Extended Microfiche Loan:

No return date.• Short-term Microfilm Loan:

1. Go to http://familysearch.org/films.

2. If needed, at the top left, select the language.

3. At the top right, click Sign In.4. Enter your username and pass-

microfilm or microfiche number of the item you want to order, and click Search.

6. Select the type of loan, such as Short-term Microfilm Loan. The price of the loan is listed.

Note: A brief description of the microfilm is listed below. Make sure this is the correct item before placing it in your cart. You cannot receive credit for a microfilm you order by mistake.

7. Click Add to Cart. 8. If you want to add another

microfilm to the order, click Continue Shopping.

You can also:• Remove items by clicking .• Update the shopping

11. In the search results, click the type of record you are looking for, such as Cemeteries. Then click the title of the record you want to view.

12. The details about this record are displayed. Scroll down to Notes to see if there are any restrictions on the use of this microfilm. If so, it will display “No circulation to family history centers.” Note: Many microfilmed records have been digitized and are available to view online.

13. Scroll down to Film Notes. Then click the film icon.

14. You can now select the type of loan, and click Add to Cart.

Note: Notice that the Film Avail-ability states it is “Available for Loan.”

15. To continue with the order, click Proceed to Checkout.

16. Enter or verify your billing information. Note: You need to enter it only the first time.

17. Click Continue. 18. Select your method of payment,

Credit Card or PayPal, and click Continue.

Note: You can use any card with a Visa or MasterCard logo, including debit, credit, or prepaid cards. If you need to use a bank transfer or European Direct Debit, you will need to create a PayPal account. The website uses secure sockets layer encryption, meaning that financial information is secure and safe from fraud.

19. Review your order, and read the Microfilm Use Agreement. At the bottom, click I Accept.

20.Then click Place Order.21. Complete the payment informa-

tion.a. For a credit card payment,

enter the card details, and click Place Order.

b. For PayPal, click Have a PayPal Account. If you do not already have a PayPal ac-count, enter the information to create an account. Click the check box to verify that your PayPal information is correct, and then click Agree and Create Account. To return to Online Film Order-ing, click Return to Fami-lySearch microfilm—LDS Church.

Note: You will receive a confirma-tion email of the order. Films may not be transferred or moved to another center or library.
