Vocabulary:
order of operations
Numerical expressions often contain more than one operation. A rule is needed to let you know which operation to perform first. This rule is called the order of operations.
Order of Operations
Step 1: Evaluate expressions inside grouping symbolsStep 2: Evaluate all powersStep 3: Do all multiplications and/or divisions from left to right.Step 4: Do all additions and/or subtractions from left to right.

Architecture Ex.
Each of the four sides of the Great Pyramid at Giza, Egypt, is a triangle. The base of each triangle originally measured 230 meters. The height of each triangle originally measured 187 meters. The area of any triangle is one-half the product of the length of the base b and the height h. b. Write an expression that represents the area of one side of the Great Pyramid.c. Find the area of one side of the Great Pyramid.
