The friction between the convey-ing liquid and the piping can bereduced by adding lubricants,which also considerably reducesthe operating pressure of thepump. Reducing the pumpingpressures leads to a reduction ofthe drive power and thus toconsiderable cost saving (longerservice life of rotor and stator,lower energy requirements).
