4.Makesurethatthebatteriesarecharged(i.e.thebatteryindicatoronthehandcontrolandbatteryholderisnotilluminated).
5.Makesurethattheservicelightisgreen.Ifitisyelloworred,theliftneedsservice.

General safety information
GeneralBefore the Molift Mover 180 can be startedup, operator must make sure that the lift is ingood working order, in terms of both safety andoperation.
Theliftmustbetakenoutofoperationimmediatelyiffaultsaffectingsafetyandreliabilityareidentified.
Molift Mover 180 has an SWL (Safe WorkingLoad) of 180 kg. This means that it is builtandtestedtoliftpatientsweighingupto180kg. When using accessories (e.g. slings andstretchers) with a lower SWL, the lowest SWLwillapply.
Theliftmaytipover ifusedincorrectly!Makesure you are familiar with the instructionsbeforeyouattempttoliftanyone.
Theliftmustnotbeusedonslopingfloorsorramps.
Use the push handle when manoeuvring thelift;donotpullthepatientortheliftingarm.
Electrical medical equipment is subjectto special usage regulations in relation toelectromagnetic compatibility (EMC) andneedstobeinstalledandusedinaccordancewiththeinstructionsinthismanual.Portableand mobile RF communication devicesmay have an effect on electrical medicalequipment.

surethatthepackagingisintactupondelivery.Ifitisnotintact,checkthecontentsofthebox;ifthereisevidenceofdamageinside,contactyourMoliftrepresentativestraightaway.
• TheboxcontainsacompleteMoverliftunit,includinghandcontrol,batteryandbatterycharger.
Assembly• Rollthechassisoutofthecardboardbox.• Chargethebattery.N.B.Thebatterymustnotbeintheholderonthe
columnduringinstallation.• Slidethecolumnintothecolumnholderonthe
chassisasshowninthepicturesbelow.• Locktheliftcolumninplacebyfasteningthe
twoAllenscrewsinfrontandrearofthechassisasshowninthepicturesbelow.Thiswillensurethatthecolumncannotbepulledupwards.
Plugthehandcontrolintotheverybottomofthebatteryholder.Thehandcontrolhasahooksothatitcanbehungonthebracketatthetopofthecolumn.

• Insertthebatteryintotheholderonthe
columnwiththetwobatteryterminalsfacingdownwards.Runtheemptyliftupanddownafewtimestomakesurethatitisworkingproerly.(Thebatteriesshouldalwaysbechargedpriortouse.)
• Installthesuspensionasshowninpicturesbelow.Alignsupensioninfork.Insertlockingpin.Makesurelockingpinisproperlyfastened.

How to use the Molift Mover 180
Place the battery in the battery holder.The handcontrolfortheMoliftMover180hasfourbuttonstomovetheliftupanddownandthelegsinandout.ThehandcontrolhasaLEDthatilluminateswhenthebatteryneedscharging.
Iftheliftdoesnotfunctionwhentherelevantbutton is pressed, please refer to the trouble-shootingguideintheMaintenancesectiontofindoutwhatiscausingtheproblem.

Lifting and moving
Thesuspensionmustalwaysbeplacedcrosswaysthepersonwhoisbeinglifted.
Make sure that the sling is fastened securelyonallfourhooksofthesuspensionsothatthepersonintheslingdoesnotsliporfallout.
Whenmovingthepatient,theymustsitlow-down,if possible with their feet placed on the base, orsothattheircentreofgravityisaslowaspossible.Thiswillreducetheriskofinstabilityand/ortippingover.The lift should also be moved with the legsas wide spread as possible to achieve maximumstability.
Whenmovingthepatient,standtothesideofthepersonyouarelifting.Makesurethatarmsandlegsdo not obstruct the lift, seat, bed, etc. Keep eyecontactwiththepatienttohelpthemfeelsafe.
When moving the patient, take care to avoidcollisions with objects and furniture in the room.Avoid thick carpets, high door sills, unevensurfacesandanyotherobstacleswhichmaymeanthe wheels get jammed. If the lift is pushed overobstacles,itmaybecomeunstableandtipover.
The lift is designed to move patients overshortdistancesonly;itisnotareplacementforwheelchairsorsimilar.
Using the leg adjustment functionUseawidelegsettingwhennecessary,e.g.togetround(wheel)chairs,toilets,etc.
The leg adjustment mechanism has a safetyfunction to prevent the legs from hurting thepatientwhentheyarebeingliftedfromthefloor;themotorshutsdownintheeventofanyunusuallyfastchangetothelegsetting.Ifthishappens,presstheoppositebuttontore-startthelegadjustmentmotor.

Emergency stop and emergency lowering
Contact a service partner if the cause of theshutdown/emergency lowering is unknown,orifafaultisdetected.Theliftmustbetakenout of operation and marked with “out oforder”untiltheissuehasbeenresolved.
Emergency stopThe emergency stop button can be found onthe battery holder on the right-hand side of thecolumn.Theemergencystopshutsoffthepower.Turnclockwisetoreset.
Electrical emergency lowering functionItispossibletoperformanemergencyloweringoftheliftingarmincaseofageneralmalfunctionofthe control electronics.The button can be foundon the battery holder. If you need to perform anemergency lowering,movethe liftertoasuitablelocationtolowerthepatient.
• Presstheemergencyloweringbuttononthebatteryholder;theliftingarmwillthensteadilymovedownwards.Theelectricalemergencyloweringfunctiondoesnotworkwhentheemergencystopisactivated.
• Iftheliftstilldoesnotwork,replacethebatteryandtesttheemergencyloweringfunctionagain.
• Ifitfailstowork,thepatientwillneedtobeloweredmanually,eitherusingthemanualemergencyloweringfunctionorbycallingforassistance.
Manual emergency lowering functionThelifthasamanualemergencyloweringfunctiononitsmotor,whichcanbeusedwhentheelectricalemergencyloweringfunctionisnotworking.
Pull the red handle up slightly. Exercise cautionas the lift will move more quickly the higher thehandleispulled.Releasingthehandletooquicklywillincreasetheriskofpersoninjuryanddamagetothelift.Emergency

Using slingsMoliftEasyslingisanall-roundslingthatfitsmostusers and lifting situations in the home care andinstitutional environment. A variety of slings areavailableforeachspecificsituation.Pleaseconsultthe operation manual supplied with each slingformoredetailed informationonhowtouseandmaintainthem.
WerecommendusingMoliftslingswithMoliftlifts.Slings made by other suppliers may vary in theirspecifications and centres of gravity, and couldleadtoinstabilityandpersoninjury.
Moliftslingsmustonlybeusedtoliftpeople.NEVERusetheslingstotransportotherobjects.
Torn, cut, frayed or broken slings can fail,resulting in serious injury to the user. Use slingsin good condition only. Destroy and discard old,unusableslings.

Batteries and charging system
Charging and handling the batteryThebatterychargercanbeusedasatable-topunitorcanbefixedtothewall.Connecttoawallsocketwhenthebatteryneedscharging.
Insertthebatteryintothecharger.Thelightonthechargerwillcomeon.
Battery capacityThe LED on the hand control and on the batteryholder will illuminate when the battery powerfallsbelowacertainlevel,indicatingthatchargingis needed. A sound signal will also be heard. Ifthe battery goes flat in the middle of a liftingmanoeuvre, there will always be sufficient powertolowerthepatientdownagain.
Newbatterieswillnotworkatfullcapacityuntiltheyhavebeenfullychargedandrunemptyseveraltimes.
Electronics
The lift counts the number of lifting manoeuvresperformed.ThisinformationcanbereadusingtheMoliftServiceTool,whichwillindicatewhentheliftneeds a service, e.g. a new lift motor. Please alsorefertotheMaintenancechapter.
The electronics have an energy-saving functionthat shuts the system down after approx. tenminutesof inactivity.Allthelightswillgooff.Theelectronicswillbeactivatedbypressingoneoftheoperatingbuttons.
Iftheliftisinconstantuseforalongperiodoftime,thereisariskoftheelectronicsoverheatingandtheliftstopping.Allowthelifttocooldownsufficientlybeforeusingitagain.
Discarded lifters and batteries should behandled as electronic waste and collectedseperately according to local laws andregulations.
Molift Mover 180 must not be in constantuseformorethantwominutes(intotal)overthecourseofanyone18-minuteperiod.

Troubleshooting
If the lift is not working properly following assembly (page 4) and the pre-use checklist (page 3), thefollowingtroubleshootingtablemayhelpyoutopinpointthefault:
Symptom Possible cause/solution
The lift column is unstable. Check the lift column’s holder and both allen screws as described in the assembly instructions on page 4.
The lift does not roll straight on level flooring.
Clean the wheels
Contact your local service representative.
The lift only goes up or down/the legs only go in or out.
Try a different hand control if you have one; you may need to replace the faulty hand control.
Dismantle column to check contact point between chassis and column
Contact your local service representative.
The lift runs by itself/the leg adjust-ment works by itself .
Clean the hand control contact with spirit to remove any grease.
Replace the hand control/contact your local service representative.
Contact your local service representative.
The lifting arm does not move. Make sure that the emergency stop is not activated (turn clockwise to reset the emergency stop
Conduct an inspection/change to a different battery or charge the bat-tery
The lift’s electronics have overheated; allow the lift to cool down.
Make sure that the load weighs no more than 180 kg.
Make sure that the hand control contact has not come loose.
Try a different hand control if you have one; you may need to replace the faulty hand control.
Contact your local service representative; you may need to use the manual emergency lowering function to lower the patient.
The battery does not charge. There may be a fault with the battery; try a different battery or replace the battery.
There may be a fault with the battery charger; try a different charger/contact your local service representative.

Maintenance
Maintaining the lift involves pre-use checklist,cleaning,inspectionsandservicing.Inspecttheliftusingthepre-usechecklistbeforeusingthelifttolocateanyfaultsorproblems.Youshouldalsocarryoutroutineinspectionsofthelift,namelyamonth-lyinspectionandaperiodic/yearlyinspection.
Cleaning Use pH-neutral cleaning agents. Ifdisinfection is required, use isopropylalcohol. Do not use abrasive or corrosivesubstancesforcleaning.
• Cleaningshallbedoneonaregularbasis.Cleantheoutsideoftheliftusingaslightlydampclothandasuitablecleaningagent.
• Removeanyhairandflufffromthewheelsandmakesurethewheelsmovefreely.
• Youmayneedtocarefullycleanthehandcontrolcontactandcordwithspirittoremoveanygrease.
Monthly inspectionTheliftmustbesetupforuseduringthe
inspection.• Inspecttheliftusingthepre-usechecklistof
thingstodobeforeusingthelift(page3).• Cleanthelift.• Makesurethatthehandcontrolcontactsand
chargeraresecurelyinplaceandthatthecablesonthehandcontrolandchargerareintact.
• Runtheliftupanddowntomakesurethatitisworkingcorrectlyandnotmakingunusualnoises.
• Intheeventofanyfaultsorproblems,taketheliftoutofoperation,markitwith“outoforder”.Contactservicepersonnel.
Periodic inspectionMolift recommends a periodic inspection of theliftonceayear.Currentguidelinesinthisareamayneedtobetakenintoconsideration.Thisperiodicinspection is carried out using the checklist onpage15.
Theinspectionshouldbeconductedbyauthorisedpersonnel. The owner is responsible for making
sure that the checklist is completed and signedeachtimetheliftisinspected.
ServicingA service light indicates when the lift needsservicing. The light illuminates green to indicatethattheliftcanbeusedasnormal.
The electronics record the loads lifted and howmuchthelifthasbeenused.Afteracertainperiodofoperationasignalisgiventoindicatethatserviceis required. The service light has the followingsignals:
