ATTENTION!

Read closely the Operating Manual prior to TKV-400-M/N-IKV installation and connection.

1. DESCRIPTION

Relion-TKV-400-M/N-IKV is an explosion-proof heat insulated enclosure Relion with in-built IR-

projector. High-power IR-projector guarantees 24-hour video surveillance at no or insufficient

illumination of monitored areas.

The heat insulated enclosure with IR-projector is produced in compliance with requirements to ex-

proof equipment of group I and subgroups IIA, IIB, IIC as per Technical Regulation of Customs

Union TR TS 012/2011, GOST 30852.13 (MEK 60079-14) and complies with explosion-proof

marking PB Exdl/1ExdIICT5/T6. The enclosure is intended for explosion-hazard areas located

indoors and outdoor facilities as well as for underground workings, mines and their ground-based

structures in compliance with requirements of GOST 30852.9 (MEK 60079-10), GOST 30852.11

(MEK 60079-12) and electrical installation code PUE (ch. 7.3).

Heat insulated enclosure with IR-projector is manufactured in the following versions:

Relion-TKV-400-M/N-IKV vers. 16 - power-supply voltage 12V DC, temperature range from – 75 to

+ 55 °С;

Relion-TKV-400-M/N-IKV vers. 08 – power-supply voltage 24-36V DC/АС, temperature range

from – 75 to + 55 °С;

Relion-TKV-400-M/N-IKV vers. 09 – power-supply voltage 220V АC, temperature range from –

75 to + 55 °С;

Relion-TKV-400-M/N-IKV vers. 15 – power-supply voltage 12V DC, temperature range from – 80 to

+ 55 °С;

Relion-TKV-400-M/N-IKV vers. 12 – power-supply voltage 24-36V DC/АС, temperature range

from – 80 to + 55 °С;

Relion-TKV-400-M/N-IKV vers. 14 – power-supply voltage 220V АC, temperature range from –

80 to + 55 °С;

All versions are self-ejected, protected from overheating, reverse polarity and short circuit.

Four versions of IR-projector are produced depending on illumination angle: 10°, 60° and 90°. IR

illumination angle shall be selected at order.

Relion-TKV-400-N-IKV body is made from stainless steel (12KH18N10T), Relion-TKV-400-M-

IKV body is made from galvanized low-carbon steel (10, 20) with powder coating and feature IP68

protecting cover.

IR-light diodes provide back light for distance up to 100m with 10° illumination angle. Angles of

light emission (10°, 60° and 90°) are provided to illuminate various-width areas.

Round-the-clock operation mode of the enclosure with IR-projector is provided.

Electric shock hazard protection is in compliance with GOST 12.2.007.0 - class III/class I.

Specified service life of IR-projector is 10 years minimum.

2. TYPICAL FEATURES

• High-resolution picture in total darkness for distance up to 100m is provided.

• Twilight relay activates IR-projector in the dark only.

• Stabilized power converter is provided for connection to external power supplies

• Automated temperature regulation +5ºС (±2ºС) in the inner space of enclosure UKHL 1 at

below-zero ambient temperature.

• Automated heating of the inner space to +1°C before self-start to ensure safe operation of video

equipment and IR-projector.

• Uniform heating of the inner space regardless of enclosure slope angle.

• Explosion-proof design of the body complies with global standard requirements.

• Standard bracket for mounting and positioning facilitates targeting of IR-projector.

4. USAGE INFORMATION

4.1 DESIGN AND FUNCTION

NOTE!

Initial turn-on of the heat insulated enclosure shall be made at a temperature not below minus 40ºC.

After self-ejection mode is activated operating temperature of the enclosure shall comply with specified

temperature range.

To facilitate setting procedure it is recommended to mount video cameras with automated zoom

system into the enclosure with IR illuminator.

To ensure specified viewing angle the camera lens shall be placed accordingly.

Heat insulated enclosure with IR-projector features sealed cover. The front lid is permanently

attached. The lid features impact-resistant inspection windows. The back lid of the enclosure features

two threaded openings M20x1,5 for cable glands. Enclosure bus bar is attached on the inside of the

back lid. The bus bar features electronic boards with power block designed for backlight

videocameras and terminals for wire connection. Median longitudinal slot in the bus bar is provided

to mount videocamera.

Temperature controllers located on the board ensure gradual warming-up and temperature

maintenance within the enclosure inner space +5ºС (±2ºС). At self-ejection IR illumination and

camera are powered up automatically after the enclosure is warmed up to +1ºC. Emergency power off

of the videocamera and IR-projector when temperature inside the enclosure goes beyond +55ºC is

provided.

LED indicators are placed of the enclosure board to control power block:

VD1 red-emitting indicator for failure of power block, short-circuit failure of output circuits;

VD3 green-emitting indicator for 12V powerup of videocamera;

VD4 green-emitting indicator for warming-up of the heat insulated enclosure;

VD5 green-emitting indicator is not active and is used for optional operations.

Silica gel is placed in the enclosure for moisture absorption.

4.2 FACTORS AFFECTING VISIBILITY

Inspection windows.

Such environmental contaminants as dust, dirt or any filming agents reduce illumination distance and

detection range, therefore routine cleaning of inspection windows is required.

5. ASSEMBLING

ATTENTION!

Do not open the enclosure in the explosion hazardous area when power supply is on.

Heat insulated enclosure with IR-projector shall be connected in compliance with specified

connection diagram in the present operating manual. If connection diagrams differ from the

recommended connection pattern and are not approved by the manufacturer, the warranty period

shall be terminated and this may result in enclosure malfunction. Assembling shall be performed

by authorized personnel only.

5.1 INSTALLATION OF THE ENCLOSURE WITH IR-PROJECTOR

When positioning the enclosure with IR-projector the following factors shall be taken into

consideration:

• Installation and targeting shall be performed with due regard to illumination distance and

radiation angle.

• Accessibility provision to perform routine maintenance.

• The IR-projector shall be targeted descending on a subject at minimum 10-20º angle to horizon

(Fig.4). Such installation shall prevent moisture accumulation on the inspection windows.

5.2 ASSEMBLY AND CONNECTION

Onsite assembly of the enclosure with IR-projector shall be performed in compliance with design of

the system whereat the enclosure is used.

Prior to assembly it is required to perform visual inspection with due regard to:

• no damages of the body and inspection windows;

• availability of cable-gland sealing materials and no damages;

• availability of all fastening elements (bolts, nuts, washers);

• no damages of earthing devices;

• Undo hold-down bolt of mounting and positioning device (5) and release heat insulated

enclosure, fig.4; Determine location for installation and fasten mounting and positioning device

(6) onto working area;

• Undo retention screws and pull foundation (back lid) (back lid) with bus bar by half from the

enclosure body, fig.4;

• Disconnect illuminator power wires from the universal board (J2-IR terminal block; Fig.5);

• Remove the foundation with the bus bar from the enclosure body;

• Install the videocamera on longitudinal slot of the bus bar and use washer and bolt which are

included in the scope of supply to fix it;

• Connect the videocamera to the electronic board in compliance with connection diagram, fig.5;

Pull in feeding and signal cables via cable glands and connect then to

the universal board as per Fig.5;

• Bring by half the foundation with the bus bar into the enclosure body and connect illuminator

power wires into J2-IR terminal block. Polarity is of no matter;

• Put silica gel into the enclosure body;

• Install the foundation with the bus bar into the enclosure body until it stops, then place

illuminator power wires under the bus bar. Screw up retention screws;

• Mount the enclosure onto the mounting and positioning device (6) and fix it with bolt (5), fig.4;

• Power on the enclosure and the monitor, point the camera at controlled zone and fix it;

• Power off the enclosure and the monitor.

Requirements to wires and cables.

At electrical installation of the heat insulated enclosure with IR-projector cables with at least

0.75mm2 cross-section shall be used. Cable cross-sections are selected according to the enclosure

supply voltage and cable line length.

Cable glands ensure tight connection for circular section cables with 8-12mm outer diameter.

The enclosure body features two entries for M20*1,5 cable glands and can be equipped with the

following cable glands specified in Table 2.

When installing armored cable assembly operations shall be performed in the

following sequence:

• Remove cable insulation to the length of 140mm;

• Remove armor to the length of 100mm.

• Remove the inner insulation up to 80mm.

• Install the connection cable into the cable gland in compliance with the diagram, Fig.7 In the

case of piping connection the piping coupling shall be screwed directly on the nozzle with G1/2

or G3/4 thread.

Water resistance

During assembly ensure tightness at installation of cable glands and back cover to prevent moisture

getting into the enclosure body. Water resistance is an important parameter that ensures stable

performance of the system in the process of operation.

ATTENTION!

Installation company shall be responsible for enclosure tightness in the process of assembly.

6. TROUBLESHOOTING

ATTENTION!

Heat insulated enclosure with IR-projector does not contain elements subject to repair by the Client.

Troubleshooting procedure shall be performed in the following sequence:

1. Make sure there is no dirt on the inspection widows of IR illuminator. Remove dirt with moist

rag.

2. Check voltage supply to the camera, IR illuminator, at the enclosure input.

7. TECHNICAL MAINTENANCE

Inspection windows of IR-projector shall be maintained clean. For this purpose, cleaning shall be

performed progressively as dirt accumulation takes place, ref. to sec. 6.

8. REPAIR AND RETURN OF THE DEVICE

Heat insulated enclosure with IR-projector is not intended for repair by the Customer at the facility. If

any problem occurs, please follow the section “Troubleshooting”. If any defects or failures occur the

Customer solely issues a failure certificate with description of the defect. Heat insulated enclosure

with IR-projector along with the product passport and failure certificate shall be returned to the

manufacturer.

9. MANUFACTURER’S WARRANTY

Product intended service life is 10 years minimum.

Warranty period is 12 months from the date of commissioning.

After 24 months of service supplementary warranty period shall be issued via WARRANTY

EXTENSION service at http://spectron-ops.ru/.

Product warranty repairs in compliance with GOST R 52350.19 or product replacement shall be

performed by the manufacturer only if the Client follows all transportation, storage and operation

requirements.

Manufacturer shall not accept any claims when the warranty period expires; if the product passport is

not provided or if Operating Manual is not followed.

10. TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE

For transportation purposes the heat insulated enclosure with IR-projector shall be packed in the

factory package or suitable box wrapped in air-bubbled film, foam core or other shock absorbent

material. If several items are packed in one box, spacers shall be located between them.

It is allowed to transport the heat insulated enclosure with IR-projector at any distance by any

transport. Protection of the transport package from precipitation shall be provided for the period of

transportation.

During loading and off-loading and during transportation the heat insulated enclosure with IR-

projector shall not be exposed to shocks or atmospheric precipitation. During transportation the box

with the enclosure shall be placed in such a manner that to prevent uncontrolled relocation.
