Justine Gabrielle PunzalanProfessor Donald Putnam was a founding member of the Department of Geography at Erindale. Professor Putnam originally trained as an agriculture and soils scientist. He joined the faculty of the University of Toronto in 1938. Focusing on physical geography, he later authored the first published study of the glacial landforms of Southern Ontario.

James KanarekDan Fitzgerald was an Irish-American born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1952 who studied Geology at Salem State College and got an MSc in Physical Geography at UofT under the supervision of Professor Kevin Devito. He studied wetlands in particular and loved every aspect of fieldwork. Following time at the Wetland Research Centre at the University of Waterloo, Dan worked as a Research Associate at UTM where he taught courses, especially field courses, and worked with graduate students to help implement fieldwork as part of their thesis projects. He is remembered as a dedicated teacher with a dark sense of humour.
