Opening Credits

In Hollywood film openings they usually follow a number of conventions of feature film openings. However, there is a certain order the film credits should be set out within the film intro. They are often listed out like this:

-Studio-Production company-Producer-Actors-Film title-Casting by-Music-Production designer-Editor-Photography-Director

My Name is JoeIn ‘My name is Joe’ I can see that it follows a number of conventions of feature film openings. However, they are not listed in the right routined order. Here is the order ‘My name is Joe’ has been set:

0:01 - Production Title0:05 - Production Credits0:09 - Production Credits0:21 - Main Actor (Peter Millan)0:25 - Main Actress (Louise Goodall)0:29 - Film Title (My name is Joe)0:34 - Actors/Actress (David Mckay, Annemarie Kennedy)0:39 - Actors/Actress (Gary Lewis, Lorraine Mcintosh, David Hayman)0:45 - Production Designer (Martin Johnson)0:49 - Photography (Barry Ackroya)0:52 - Costume Designer (Rhona Russell)0:55 - Sound Recordist (Ray Beckett)0:58 - Editor (Johnathan Moms)1:03 - Music (George Fenton)1:07 - Executive Producer (Ulrich Felsberg)1:10 - Screenplay (Paul Laverty)1:14 - Producer (Rebecca O’Brien)1:18 - Director (Ken Loach)

Fish Tank

However, Fish Tank has very short film credits which do not involve a lot of information. Fish tank does not follow the complete rule of conventions and is quite unusual as it only has three different film credits, which are:

0:09 - Production Company0:14 - Production Title0:22 - Film Title (Fish Tank)

The unusual thing about ‘Fish tank’ is that during the opening of the film credits it does not mention and actor/actress name also it does not mention the directors name. These two things are very important to a film.

London to Brighton

London to Brighton is very similar to Fish tank as it only has four credits, which involve:

0:01 - Production Company0:13 - Production Credits0:16 - Production Title0:24 - Production Credits

London to Brighton is missing a very important credit which is ‘Film

Title’.
