There are a few absentees, some likeOystermouth Castle and St Mary’s Church, inthe midst of building works and, yes, somevictims of budgets and cuts. Sorry too thatthere is no bike ride this year but look outfor Gower Cycling Week next week!

Our even more parlous financial position thisyear means no brochure, hence the websitebased information, hopefully printable athome. [Apologies to the non-IT people – wehope to produce a summary ‘flier’.] Pleasealso join us on Facebook by searching for Ty Agored Abertawe Open House.

For all these things and our continuedexistence much thanks to our visitors, volunteers and participants and especially toRidler Webster for design, Nawr for thewebsite work, Trilein Ltd for keeping it alltogether and the City and County ofSwansea, especially Lisa Roberts, for theirhelp ‘in kind’.

We remain keen, with ambitious plans toshow off our fine city. With luck and a fewbob, see you next year!

For now, plenty to see; check the days andtimes; enjoy!

Supported byLocal regeneration practice Trilein works across theUK with the public, private and third sectors toachieve sustainable places.

A key element of that is achieving sustainable livingenvironments and the Open House eventconsciously promotes the built environment as a vitalelement of sustainable communities.

We work with projects to test and nurture initialideas, through to project development and delivery, toevaluation and ongoing support. Our work takes allshapes and sizes: helping people in communities toestablish community facilities; assisting socialenterprises to develop and grow; advising housingassociations on how to improve the built environmentof neighbourhoods; assisting local authorities andvoluntary organisations to improve their projects andevaluate outcomes; and helping the private sector todevelop corporate social responsibility andsustainability as core working practices.
