Welcome A very warm welcome to
Countesthorpe Leysland Community College Open Evening.
Staff and students are available to talk to you, answer your questions, and to direct you to the different areas of the College. Please do not hesitate to ask, we are all
here to help.
While you are here why not sample tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits from the
Countesthorpe or Leysland dining areas.
To help the evening run smoothly, we have a programme of presentations. Please do your
best to attend the time slot for your child’s primary school. Tours of the College will be
running throughout the evening and you are free to look around and meet our students

Our Year 10 Business students are designing logos using i-pads.

The Countesthorpe Leysland Drama department will be showcasing our College Tech Club. Come and join us in the Drama studio as we look at health and safety, how to programme our LED bar lights and look at colour and lighting in the with our Drama teachers and theatre technician.

Visit the English Department and experience a range of English activities including spelling and poetry games. Talk to English teachers and students about the journey from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4 and GCSE and then on to Key Stage 5 and A level. Explore our interesting and varied curriculum and look at a range of our textbooks and class readers.

Come and see a display of years’ 7,8 and 9 work. Also years’ 10 and 11 GCSE course work. Come and join our year 11s and either watch or join in making wax transfers. If you fancy getting your hands dirty come and do some tie dying with us. Join us in Food Studies investigating foods.

Health and Social Care

Media Studies

Come and see what Media Studies is all about. Have a go with the equipment and think about what YOU could create! Ask us about careers in the Media and see how far a Media qualification can really take you!
Psychology

Learn more about the science of mind and behaviour. Come and test your memory, see if your brain can be fooled by optical illusions and look at some classical Freudian case studies. There is also the opportunity to speak to teachers about the topics covered and course requirements.
