    LongdefinitionAnnualfreshwaterwithdrawalsrefertototalwaterwithdrawals,notcountingevaporationlossesfromstoragebasins.Withdrawalsalsoincludewaterfromdesalinationplantsincountrieswheretheyareasignificantsource.Withdrawalscanexceed100percentoftotalrenewableresourceswhereextractionfromnonrenewableaquifersordesalinationplantsisconsiderableorwherethereissignificantwaterreuse.Withdrawalsforagricultureandindustryaretotalwithdrawalsforirrigationandlivestockproductionandfordirectindustrialuse(includingwithdrawalsforcoolingthermoelectricplants).Withdrawalsfordomesticusesincludedrinkingwater,municipaluseorsupply,anduseforpublicservices,commercialestablishments,andhomes.Dataareforthemostrecentyearavailablefor19872002.
