Gold OA is the best option – sustainable and provides immediate access
Green OA – we can facilitate this via our Chemical Science Article Repository and our policies allow deposition into institutional repositories (12-month embargo period)
RSC’s Open Access policies• We provide Gold OA options in all our journals
– APCs: £1,000 (Communication, Technical Note); £1,600 (Full Paper); £2,500 (Review Article)

• Article metadata can be deposited in a non-commercial repository at any time after publication
• Green route via deposition in our Chemical Sciences Article Repository - automatic deposition of the authors’ final version if this is opted into at submission (12 month embargo period)
• We reward all RSC Gold subscribing institutions with voucher codes to publish Gold OA free of charge
