W e would like to introduce the newest member of our Woodhaven family, our Ex-ecutive Director, Steven Nastasi. Steven has over 16 years of experience working in the Senior Living industry. In his career, he has held a number of key positions includ-ing; Activity Director, Food Service Direc-tor, Business Office Manager, Assisted Liv-ing Manager and Executive Director. Ste-ven will be a tremendous asset to Woodhaven Village due to his many years of working in all areas of Senior Living.

Steven received both his undergraduate BBA and graduate MBA degree from The University of Houston. Steven has two boys that he loves dearly, Seth who is 11 years old and Logan who is 4. One would know Steven for his sense of humor and quick wit. It is because of these traits, his attention to detail and business acumen, is what has earned him the success within the industry. Steven operates with an open door policy for residents, fami-lies and staff. He will be willing to do whatever he can to ensure that Woodhaven Village is the best place to call home. Steven told us that he has been on 12 cruises and is about to go on his 13th cruise in April. He states that, “It is the only way to vacation!” Woodhaven Village is excited to have Steven aboard our “cruise ship” and we welcome him with big open arms!

Resident of the Month

On May 2, 1931 a one of the sweetest smiles entered the world. Peg-gy Boardman is one the nicest people you will ever have the pleasure to meet. Which makes perfect since with her background in customer service. In her younger years, she met a man by the name of Vernon Boardman, fell madly for him, and was shortly married. Since he was such an excellent cook and Peggy was such a delight, they decided to go into the restaurant business and open up “Bordman’s”. Together they ran the business while their family grew by 3. Peggy will always talk about how much fun she use to have running Bordman’s, and watching her husband cook. Peggy speaks of all the adventures they were able to take, like a trip to Paris, France. So if you see this smil-ing face, do not be afraid to say hi and ask her about Bordman’s. She would love to talk about it.

If you ever have had the chance to visit Whispering Pines, then you have undoubt-

edly seen Tangekur “Teddie” Payne hard at work. Teddie is much more than just a care giver though. She is also a loving wife, a wonderful mother to 4, and a proclaimed basketball star proven by her years playing for Conroe High School & Kilgore College. Teddie says if she isn’t at work, you can find her playing basketball on 1st street, MLK street, or at the Rec. Teddie enjoys talking about how much she loves her resi-dents and her job here at Woodhaven Vil-lage. She hopes one day to take all she has learned into law enforcement for Conroe PD. If you get the chance to see her smiling face, stop and congratulate her. She de-serves it after a year of all the hard work!
