All the windows in the house are slowly opening and venting out the old musty, stale winter air for fresh clean spring air. That’s right, spring is here. You may be feeling like you have a little more energy; a little more bounce in your step, and I’m guessing that spring cleaning may have begun. This season has such a wonderful therapeutic feeling associated with it. Here are some more “spring-time” events happening around the city this month for you to enjoy.

there is a buzz through-out the city — and I’m sure around the rest of

the league — about our beloved Jays. This could possibly be the year they bring back the title as the best team in baseball. I know at the beginning of every season there is a wishful excitement that “this is the year” — yet every year we are disappointed. But this season is truly different for many reasons. This year our GM Alex Anthopoulos has made some big moves and brought in some highly talented players. The word on the baseball field is that the Jays are going to be team to beat this season. With a well-rounded bullpen, a top-notch in-filed and outfield, and a strong force behind the bat this is going to be a great year of baseball. Now we get to sit back with a hot dog and some peanuts and a few cold ones and watch it all unfold!

toronto blue jays The Year of GreaT expecTaTions

otg | FeatuRe

by darren c. jacob

It’s been 20 years since the Toronto Blue Jays last held the esteemed Commissioner’s Trophy and were crowned World Series Champions. It’s been 20 years since the city has celebrated any major championship sports team; but thanks to the Toronto Blue Jays, our city is getting closer to reaching that ultimate goal.

R.A. Dickey, 2012 Cy Young winner. Secret weapon: an 80 MPH knuckle ball.

12 www.onthego.to

Page 15: ONtheGO Magazine April 2013

The season opener kicks off April 2nd, 2013, versus the Cleve-land Indians (as of day of print, the game has yet to be decided); then the Jays battle against the Boston Red Sox, Chicago White Sox, and the New York Yankees. The month of April is going to be a good test for this team that has high expectations to do well. Ticket prices to check out a Jays game are so reasonably priced compared to other sport-ing teams in this city: they range from $11 to $210 (the latter put you right into the action). Now tell me who doesn’t love watch-ing a live baseball game? And for those prices there is no excuse why we can’t fill up the Rogers Centre and cheer for our beloved Toronto Blue Jays. There are many new faces on the team: R.A. Dickey, Jose Reyes, Emilio Bonifacio, Josh Johnson, Maicer Izturis, Mark DeRosa, Melky Cabrera and Mark Buehrle to name a few. Also back for a second-round as team manager is John Gibbons. Here’s good omen, as I see it — it’s the Dominican contingent the Jays have on the team. Seeing as the Dominican Republic were crowned champions in this years’ World Baseball Classic, hopefully that winning attitude can carry over to the MLB season. Here are some dudes to keep an eye on this season — key play-ers that will help bring Jays to that next level:

JOSe BauTiSTa #19 Right FieldJose has been in the Majors since 2004 and has been a Toronto Blue Jay since 2009, and has been a perrenial favourite since leading the major leagues in home runs in 2010 and 2011. He’s achieved countless awards and honours as a Blue Jay including the All-Stars, Silver Slugger, Hank Aaron award, and numerous times has been the player of the month and player of the week. In 2011, Batista led the Majors in home runs, walks, slugging percentage and OPS. He became the first player to lead the Majors in those categories since Barry Bonds in 2001 and the first American League player since Ted Williams in 1942. Also in 2011, he became the 10th Blue Jay to be voted to start the All-Star Game with a Major League record of 7,454,753 votes.

r.a. dicKey #43 PitcherRobert Allen Dickey is the 2012 Cy Young Award winner. He is the first knuckleballer to win this award. Last year playing with the Mets, he set career bests in wins, innings pitched, ERA, complete games and shutouts. It was also the first time in his career he was named to the National League All-Star Team. Dickey tied for second for most wins in the Majors with 20. He struck out 230 in 233.2 inning, which ranked 3rd in the Majors and 1st in the National League.

JOSe reyeS #7 Short StopJose Reyes is going to be an exciting player to watch. His is a very skillful short stop and a powerhouse with the bat. In 2011, Reyes became the 11th different short stop to win the batting crown. He is the first player since 1900 to post 3 multi-triple games in one season and became the second short stop to collect 100 hits in 66 games or fewer. Jose founded the Santiago RBI program, which is designed to help youngsters learn the fundamentals of baseball while receiving an education. He also donates to help rebuild fields in his hometown. His positive and uplifting attitude will also be a major boost for the Jays.

RENOVATING MAY BE THE ANSWER!Here are some tips on how to make renovations a reality:

RENOVATION FUNDINGAs a homeowner, renovation dollars may be just a line of credit away. MCAP, a leading Canadian residential mortgage lender, offers several options that let you turn home equity investment into flexible renovation financing.

MAKE IT PAYConsider return-on-investment (ROI). Before jumping in, speak with a mortgage broker. They can provide insight on a renovation’s potential added value. If moving is a future possibility,

BUY anD renoVaTe WiTh McapbuIlDInG tODAYOn tOMORROW

then renovate with resale in mind. New kitchens, bathrooms, interior painting and roofs head the Appraisal Institute of Canada’s list of proven home improvement ROI’s.

GET STARTEDA budget is priority! Do your homework by pricing and detailing all renovation must-haves with two to three supplier quotes per item. Review quotes and interview all contractors. Check out past work and service by asking for customer references. Never hire solely based on price.

MAKE IT HAPPENDot the “i’s and cross the “t’s” on all renovation contracts and supply purchases. More importantly, read the fine print and ensure it includes everything promised and expected by both parties to ensure a smooth and successful transition between demolition day and the finishing phase. When ready, sign and set a start date. Let the reno begin!

PAY IT OFFTake advantage of today’s borrower-friendly rates. Come mortgage renewal time, your mortgage broker can help you roll mortgage and renovation costs into one low-cost refinancing package that ensures your bottom line is top-of-profit!

LOVE YOUR HOUSE but feel a few home improvements are in order? Perhaps your family’s growing and needs more room ASAP! Or is that leaky toilet looking like the perfect excuse to overhaul the entire ’50s-style bathroom? Maybe it’s simply just time that the home you bought finally reflects your lifestyle, tastes and needs.

Whoever said, “Time flies when you’re having fun” was right. I can’t believe it’s been ten years since Holmes on Homes first aired!

Want My Help? Here’s how to get it.

By Mike Holmes

Over the last ten years, I must have received hundreds of thousands

of letters and emails. Maybe millions. And each one of those letters was from someone who needed help. That’s a lot of people and a lot of problems for just one guy. So how do I choose which jobs to take on? That’s probably one of the most popular questions I get asked. Answering it isn’t always easy. First, plenty of things go into choosing, and it’s always a moving target. But it usually

comes down to three things: The job, the story and the people. So far I’ve developed three series: Holmes on Homes, Holmes Inspection and Holmes Makes it Right. Holmes on Homes focused on homeowners who had been screwed over by a contractor. Holmes Inspection was about helping people who had been screwed over by a home inspector. But now with Holmes Makes it Right, there are no limits to the jobs. And the more different and unusual, the better. When you have a successful television show there’ s always the fear of repetition. If one week an episode airs where I’m redoing a kitchen for victims of a scam, I’m getting hundreds of emails about kitchen scams the next week after everyone’s seen it. But once I’ve done one type of job I need something different. Give me a job that’s unique, in some way, from other things I’ve done. Give me a story.

I’m open to all kinds of projects. Big, small, homes, cottages, playgrounds, barns — doesn’t matter. I want to do it all. But more important than the job is the story behind the job. Ideally, we want big stories, not so big projects. Rip offs and scams are the meat and potatoes — people love stories with villains. But Brian, our story producer, reviews every letter and sees the bigger picture. He operates on gut instincts. He’s also the show’s biggest fan. So if he thinks a story has potential — no matter what anyone else says — I’m sniffing it out. If the job fits the schedule we meet the people involved. Remember, this is television. That means my story producer is looking for people who can tell a story. Let me give you an example. The first episode of Holmes Makes it Right was a seriously bad roof job. But we didn’t choose the story because of that. We chose it because when I met the homeowners it was magic. They were funny, interesting, cute as hell, and the circumstances around their roof was never seen before on

TV. Most of all, they absolutely needed my help in a big way. Bottom line: It’s about ‘needs’ versus ‘wants’. There are many people who ‘want’ my help and then there are people who really ‘need’ it — people that have no other options. They’ve got nowhere else to turn. Tell me what the stakes are. What will happen if you don’t get my help? Like I said, I am just one guy. I can only help so many people. But your story could have what it takes to be a Holmes Makes it Right episode. If you’ve been done wrong, tell me about it by going to makeitright.ca/castingcall. You never know, I might just show up to make it right!

Since the implementation of the Montreal Protocol agreement, the plastic insulation industry has had the challenge of eliminating

all the Ozone Depletion Substances (ODS) in their products. In the sustainable development approach, PFSI is proud to present its new generation of Spray Polyurethane Foam Insulation Polarfoam™ PF-7300-0 Soya. An ecological insulation with Zero Ozone Depletion Substance (ZERO ODS) made from renewable vegetable oils and recycled plastics. Today, your plastic bottles are recycled into a high performance Spray Polyurethane Foam insulation.

Polarfoam™ PF-7300-0 Soya meets all the requirements of the National Building Code of Canada (NBC) and exceeds the quality standard CAN/ULC S 705.1 “Standard for Thermal Insulation Spray Applied Rigid Polyurethane Foam,

Medium Density, Material Specification”. This new ecological spray foam insulation gives in a one step application a high long-term thermal resistance, an air-barrier material exceeding 500 times the NBC requirements as well as a vapour-barrier. Approved by Canadian Construction Material Centre CCMC #13244-L.

With one ecological insulation material Polarfoam™ PF-7300-0 Soya you get the 3 essential properties for a high efficiency-building envelope in a single application. Consequently, you reduce the cost of the project as well as its life long energy consumption.

fiVe Tips for TransforMinG YarD sale finDs

by Leigh-Ann Allaire PerraultSpring has officially sprung, and for many it means the anticipation of warmer weather, greener grass, bluer skies … and yard sales! I’ve always loved bargain hunting for the thrill of a fab frugal find, and this time of year is perfect to shop local yard sales in the hopes of unearthing a unique, affordable décor treasure. Whether it’s a piece that needs a minor tune-up or a complete DIY overhaul, here are my top five tips for transforming your yard sale finds.

1 Break all of the “rules” and think outside the box.First things first, I don’t believe

that there are any rules in decorating! In a sea of beige, predictable design, it’s the spaces that dare to be different which end up being the most memorable. So when it comes to refreshing a yard sale find, think about alternative functions beyond its original intended use. A vintage T.V. console can easily become an entertaining bar station, or a dated dresser might be reimagined into a bathroom vanity. The key with adding personality is to think outside of the box.

2Get inspired.Have you ever stumbled upon a pre-loved piece just

oozing with potential? Maybe it was such a great bargain that you had no choice but to snap it up. If an upcycle makeover is suddenly on the horizon, why not look for a little design inspiration first. My go-to source…PINTEREST! I have found and collected countless images on the widely popular site of trendy, high end furnishing that become great

inspiration for my own affordable and inspired DIY transformations.

3 personalize to suit your décor and taste.Whether your yard sale

find is a thrifty end table or an aged armoire, the likelihood of it perfectly coordinating with your existing finishes and wood tones is probably quite low. I often say, when in doubt, paint it! The easiest way to unify several different pieces of furniture is to paint them all a consistent colour. Although the styles of your furnishings may be different, a fresh coat of paint in a hue of your choice will not only help to harmonize your décor, but also reinforce your design sensibility and taste.

4prep, prep, prep.As much as I love a great bargoon, I will never

sacrifice quality or style to save a few dollars. When I’m searching for a piece with upcycle potential, I always ensure that it is well constructed and that it doesn’t have any major structural flaws. However, the chance of a piece needing some minor

repairs is usually inevitable, and if you plan to add a splash of paint, proper preparation is key. Wood glue, crack filler, thorough sanding and a coat of primer will help to ensure that the end result lasts as long as your love for your new piece.

5Know when to call in the pros. I have a motto … know your limit, and DIY within

it! Not every upcycle project can be completed simply with an inspired idea and a little elbow grease. If the task of sanding, painting, or reupholstering is outside of your comfort zone, consider taking your yard sale find to a professional to help bring your furniture makeover to life. Sometimes it’s worth a few extra dollars for a quality finish if it means saving a bucket of sweat and aggravation.

Happy yardsaling … let the search for that perfect DIY piece begin!

consider adopting the following six fuel saving behaviours:

Accelerate gently: The harder you accelerate, the more fuel you consume. In city driving, where accelerating consumes about half of the fuel used, you can conserve as much as 15 per cent by easing the pedal gently and gradually.

Maintain a steady speed: By avoiding unnecessary acceleration you will not only consume less fuel, it will also help to enhance traffic flow, minimize exhaust emissions and deliver safer driving conditions. Consider using cruise control on the highway.

Anticipate traffic: Avoid unnecessary fuel consumption by reading the road ahead and anticipating situations before they arise. This basic defensive-driving technique negates the need for sudden stops and calls on you to maintain your vehicle’s momentum. The first rule is to leave plenty of space between your vehicle and the one in front of you and plan your manoeuvres well in advance.

Coast to decelerate: By predicting slowdowns and removing your foot from the accelerator as early as possible, you can decrease your speed, conserve fuel and save money,

Like millions of Canadians who drive vehicles every day, you can take steps to reduce fuel use, save money, curb carbon dioxide emissions, and improve safety on our roads.

Six Ways to reDUce fUel Use, saVe MoneY, anD keep oUr roaDs safer

all at the same time. Coasting to decelerate also reduces wear-and-tear on your tires and brakes, which in turn lowers your maintenance, repair and servicing costs.

Avoid high speeds: Each vehicle operates most efficiently at a certain speed. While this varies from model to model, most cars, vans and light-duty trucks are most fuel efficient when travelling between 50 and 80 kilometres/hour (kph). You also consume 20 per cent more fuel travelling at 120 kph versus 100 kph.

Control the air conditioning: When in operation, the air conditioning system can increase fuel

consumption by up to 20 per cent. Actual consumption depends on the vehicle’s interior size, the outdoor temperature, and other operating conditions. Open a window instead, or on the highway, use the vehicle’s flow-through ventilation to cool off. If air conditioning is a luxury you don’t want to give up, select the re-circulate option to help minimize the impact of air conditioning on fuel consumption.

KEEP TRACK OF YOUR DOCUMENTSMake sure that you can find all your tax papers and slips when you need them. Use a large envelope or shoe box to organize all your receipts, and keep the receipts sorted in categories using paperclips. Start with the letter that you received from the Canada Revenue Agency and add any other document that may be tax related.

MAKE TAx FILING A FAMILY AFFAIRIf you are married or have dependants, prepare the returns for your entire family at the same time. Only then can you (or your software) accurately prepare your tax returns and find the available deductions, credits and transfers that can get you a better tax refund.

KNOW WHEN TO FILE A TAx RETURN! Keep in mind that your tax return is also a benefits return. Even if you think you don’t need to file a

FIve tIPs FORfilinG YoUr Tax reTUrns

tax return, you should still do so to ensure that you claim any benefits you are entitled to. Filing a return can also help increase your RRSP contribution room and allows you to claim any excess tax deducted at source and make your claim for the HST Credit.

TAKE ADVANTAGE OF STUDENT CREDITSStudents are often entitled to substantial tax credits that should not be missed. Any family member who is a registered student can claim an amount for the tuition paid. Remember, a student can also claim an education credit and an amount for books for each month spent as a full-time or part-time student.

FILE ON TIME!The annual tax return deadline is April 30th, so there is still time to get your return in order. BUT, missing the tax return deadline can cost you money if you owe, and also makes you ineligible for important tax benefits, such as the HST Credit.

liFe aFteR tHe PennYDo you remember where you were on February 4, 2013 when the Royal Canadian Mint (RCM) stopped issuing pennies? Perhaps you walked by one on the sidewalk but didn’t bother to pick it up — to your peril. There goes your chance of having a lucky day, as the old adage goes. Oh well, it doesn’t really matter now does it?

Research by Desjardins Group’s economists found that maintaining

the penny costs Canadians an estimated $150M a year. Thanks in part to this analysis, the federal government announced last year that it would withdraw the one-cent coin. Don’t worry though; this definitely wasn’t a case of being penny wise and pound foolish. Frankly, the penny lost its shine ages ago: it costs 1.6¢ each to produce and its purchasing power has been greatly reduced partly because Canadians have been hoarding them for years. By eliminating the coin, there will be a significant savings to the environment and the economy in general due to the reduction in handling costs for retailers, financial institutions and consumers. As a result, the transition costs for the government to gradually

withdraw the penny — which may be in the tens of millions of dollars over the next few years — will be minimal compared to the recurring annual savings Canadians will see down the line.

GONe BuT NOT FOrGOTTeNAlthough the RCM is no longer minting the penny, it will maintain its value and legal tender indefinitely. And some businesses will still accept it as a form of payment. As pennies are withdrawn from circulation, prices will be rounded to the nearest nickel for cash transactions. Non-cash transactions (debit card, credit card, prepaid card, cheque, etc.) will continue to be settled to the nearest cent.

dON’T cry FOr THe peNNy, iT Had a GOOd ruNWhat will the RCM do with all the lowly pennies that are

returned? They will be melted down and recycled, which will create a revenue source for the government to help offset the transition costs.

GreaT uSe FOr yOur Old cOpperIf you’re the proud owner of a terrarium full of pennies and would rather not roll and return the lot to your local financial institution, consider donating them to a local charity.

leT iT Be Said, THiS SpriNG iT’S redRed lips are what’s in … ANY red! Powerful reds that range from pink-reds, classic cherry reds, to the dark crimson reds are what’s on everyone’s lips this season. But the only thing shining this spring will be the sun, because the red lip look is matte. To perfect the matte lip, it’s important to line and fill in your lips with a matching lip liner underneath your matte lipstick or lip stain. This way the lipstick has something to adhere to, guaranteeing its longevity throughout the day. Coupled with this daring look is a very au naturel eye, forsaking eyeshadow and eyeliner, and focusing on just mascara and fresh glowing skin.

HiT THe SceNe iN GreeNIf the strong lip look isn’t your forte, then dress up your eyes in green. The particular shade of green that’s in for spring is emerald. One wash of deep green all over the lid is what will get you noticed, if it has a bit of shimmer, even better. Try using a loose shimmer powder eyeshadow, the satin finish is exactly the desired look. This look is strong enough, so skip lining the eye with black and do a subtle sweep of mascara, making sure to keep your lips light, almost even pale.

So whether you’re seen in green or paint the town red, you’ll be sure to make heads turn this spring, if you follow these quick easy tips! Remember to not wear both looks together or it will be too over-whelming. Pick which feature you want to play up and have fun!

by Tracy Peart

Spring has sprung! Time to put away the hats, hoods and scarves that have been covering your face all winter long, and reveal a new you. This spring it’s about making a statement with one feature on your face. You can choose to sport a bold lip or a bold eye — you decide!

First, while you sleep you regenerate your cells and repair your muscles. If

you are an avid fitness enthusi-ast, an athlete, or regularly go to the gym you will understand why this is so important. If your muscles don’t repair you put yourself at risk for an injury, and no one wants that.

Secondly, you look and feel better. We all want to look our best and getting 6–8

hours a night of shut eye will do just that. Your skin will dra-matically look younger and more vibrant, you also won’t have bags and dark circles under your eyes. How you feel is just as important, and when you are constantly well rested, you will have more energy and overall feel more joyous and happy. People who deprive themselves of sleep are far more irritable.

feelinG GooD This sprinGby Michelle Betts

When asked what’s the most important component to excellent health and fitness my answer would be getting adequate amounts of sleep every night. You can say I’m spoiled — I regularly sleep eight hours on any given night. However, the last few weeks there have been problems where I live and it has interrupted my sleep, which is why I felt compelled to write on this topic. Keep reading on to see why sleep is so important for your health, fitness, and general well-being.

Thirdly, you will make better diet choices. Statistically, when

humans are tired, we consume more calories. Feeling exhaustion or lethargic is when we reach for sugary, processed food to give us energy. Well rested individuals simply eat healthier, balanced meals. Sleep deprivation brings on bingeing and you tend to grab “feel good” food.

These are just three simple reasons you should get the recommended 6–8 hours of shut eye a night, but the list goes on and on. I NEVER want to feel the way I have been feeling the last few weeks, and don’t wish it upon you. This spring get adequate sleep to avoid an injury, look and feel your best, and make healthy diet choices. Sweet dreams!

the Wellness belt HOW AN INCREDIBLE CANADIAN INVENTION CAME TO BE

otg | health & beauty

Doctors Craig and Elda Curphey practiced together in Canada and noticed a very high percentage of their patients had degrading physical conditions due to insufficient activity levels. In most cases, they recommended an increase in weight-bearing exercise as part of a rehabilitative approach.

However, only about 1 in 10 patients would actually join a fitness facility or

start an exercise program. Why? They gave 3 main reasons:

No time. Negative attitude towards exercise. Too expensive.  There were also an alarming number of women visiting their office over the age of 30 who were on osteoporosis medications such as hormone replacement therapy, or bisphosphonate drugs such as Actonel or Fosamax. Most were uninformed about the lower effectiveness and the highly worrisome side effects of these medications. Again, the Curpheys encouraged the women to perform weight-bearing exercise as a much more effective and safer alternative, but the same reasons were given for non-performance.

They wanted the convenience of pills, so even with the awareness of very dangerous side effects they chose to believe, “It can’t happen to me.” Women have had strokes and passed away while on these meds, so it does happen and it deeply affects the families involved. Studies conducted by Dr. Christine Snow at the University of Oregon conclude that weight-bearing exercise significantly increases an individual’s ability to prevent hip fractures and strengthen their bones preventing and even reversing osteoporosis. It also suggested that “wearing” external weight, such as a weighted vest, during the performance of normal everyday activities produces the same benefits as working out at the gym. There are major drawbacks with weighted vests, however, that make them undesirable for use every day. People would only consider

wearing an external weighted device if it was convenient and attractive so the idea of a vest was transformed into a weighted belt instead. During prototyping, patients reported loss of inches, increased energy and endurance, and those who had bone density scans done reported only increases. The most astonishing feedback however, was from chronic back pain patients reporting that their spine problems had simply gone away! Sounds too good to be true? Don’t be surprised — these results are simply what happens when you correct your posture and increase your activity.

Wear the Wellness Belt and begin enjoying all the benefits personally. That little change will not only change your life, it can SAVE your life!

When you think of the origins of wine, many people think of Ancient Rome. Wine actually existed long before that in

ancient Italy. It is believed that Etruscans (Tuscans) and Greek settlers produced wine in Italy before the Romans expanded their territory and started their own vineyards in the 2nd century BC. However the Romans soon perfected wine-making into the artform that it is today. Italy is home to some of the oldest wine producing regions in the world and for generations Italian wine has been exported around the globe. The country has now overtaken France as the world’s largest wine producer. Grapes are grown in almost every region of the country and there are over 1,000,000 vineyards under cultivation, with more grape varietals than anywhere else — over 400. The most famous regions include Piedmont, Veneto, Tuscany, Abruzzo, and Sicily, with varieties including Pinot Grigio, Moscato, Montepulciano, Chianti, Sangiovese, Amarone, and Valpolicella. There is no shortage of home-grown wine drinking in the boot-shaped country — Italians are ranked 5th in the world for wine consumption by volume with 41 litres per year per capita. There could be many reasons behind this; the fact that it is so embedded into the fabric of the Italian culture, or maybe because Italians claim wine as there own; or simply because Italians enjoy wine with meals. And we must all agree that Italian cuisine is not the same without a glass of vino! For more about the wines of Italy, check out www.onthego.to — scroll to the wine tab and click on regions to find out more about each Italian variety. Once you start exploring Italian wines, you’ll be sure to discover something new, something you’ve never heard of before. Have a look and be inspired to try a glass of classico Italia — Old World wine at its best.

april 20 – May 20: Much like Aries you will have problems arise in your personal life and your relationship. You can expect your love life to be challenged and tested to the maximum. The frustration may seem unbearable, but try to remain in control because there is always a bright side.

May 21 – june 21: It is time to take advantage of any career opportunities that arise during April. This is a positive month for you, and it is important that you make the most out of it. It is important that you do not allow your career to take precedence over your personal life.

june 22 – july 23: You can relax and put your feet up. You have nothing to prove at the moment so there is no need to worry. Do not let your guard down completely because there may be a time when your personal relationships become strained. Deal with it using a calm head when the time comes.

july 24 – august 23: Try to stay out of the spotlight for a while. Finish tasks with ease and purpose while remaining unnoticed. Your family and friends will enjoy your modesty and you will be rewarded for it in the end. Surround yourself with loved ones. Do not let others into your circle.

august 24 – september 22: If you learn to stay out of other’s arguments then you can finally have the emotional rest you’ve been seeking. To achieve this you may have to make amends with people you have hurt in the past. A fog will lift mid month and you will be able to think and act with a clear mind.

september 23 – october 22: April is a great time for you to reconsider your life purpose. Think about your dreams, and ambitions; maybe it is time for a change. Be on the lookout for others who will try to get one over on you. People will sense that you are vulnerable and try to take advantage of it.

october 23 – november 22: Contrasts are in store for you. It may become difficult for you to get anything done because your thoughts are so conflicting. Your love life may become a little awkward because you are withdrawn. Try not to lose your temper when a love one approaches you about this matter.

november 23 – december 20: It is important that you surround yourself with family and friends. It is a great time for you to make new friends, but do not forget about your old ones. Make the most of social gatherings, and watch your spirit soar! Don’t let other’s lack of responsibility bring you down.

december 21 – january 20: You will have more of a positive month. You will not have to worry about upsetting others. No more walking on eggshells for you! Feel free to express your opinions and do not worry as much about your actions. This is a fresh start for you so make the most out of it.

january 21 – february 19: Balance is what you should focus on achieving during the month of April. Try to decipher between the wants and needs of others, including your own as well. Make the most of opportunities at work and your co-workers will realize how much you have to offer.

february 20 – March 20: You will have a good month when it comes to romance and your career. It is important that you take the time to bring romance back into an existing relationship, or to put yourself out there if you are single. This will bring you a newfound confidence in all aspects of life.
