TORONTO STAR 2017 FAMILY FUN GUIDE 3

You already know the many benefits of spending quality time together as a family. Planning and going on a family outing creates precious bonding time; it’s a chance to focus on a healthy activity and it can be a fun way to get some fresh air and exercise, together.

This Family Fun Guide is designed to help you choose from the many great events, activities and attractions in Ontario. It’s loaded with information on festivals, day-trips, attractions, and adventures. And, during this special sesquicentennial year, there are many events that celebrate the 150th Anniversary of Canada’s Confederation.

While you’re browsing the guide’s helpful listings, the kids will enjoy its Fun Facts! and Did You Know? features about Canada. There are also puzzles and word searches for the kids to enjoy—maybe even on a car ride to one of Ontario’s great attractions.

Experience Canada’s wilderness and sleep under the stars in one of our province’s pristine parks. Tour its spar-kling waterways. Travel back in time at a museum. Learn more about our early aboriginal peoples. Visit an art gallery. Drop by one of this summer’s many book, music or art festivals. Whatever your interests, Ontario has an incredible summer experience for you and your family within driving distance.

Take a few days—or even just a few hours—out of your normal routine and reconnect with the people you love. Not only will you have fun together and maybe even learn

something, but you’ll be creating memories that will last a lifetime, for you and your entire family.

There is so much for families to see and experience in Ontario this summer!

WELCOME TO THE TORONTO STAR FAMILY FUN GUIDE!

Canadians are crazy for mac and cheese! We eat roughly 55% more of it each year than our American neighbours, and purchase 1.7 million boxes out of the 7 million sold around the world each week. Canadian-born founder of Kraft Foods, James Kraft, was the first to patent a process of powdering cheese to give it a longer shelf life, and released the first box of Kraft Dinner in 1937.
