1 INTRODUCTION

1.1 WHY ONLINEMASK?With our low cost masking and image processing, you save time and money. Our specialists also process large amounts of data reliably within 24 hours. Express images are actually processed within 4 hours.

1.2 FUNCTIONALITYVector paths are added to the uploaded pictures by hand or the desired image processing is carried out. Where clipping and masking are concerned your original images remain unprocessed, so that no image details are lost.

Along with clipping (masking type “Economy“) we offer in addition also the masking of the main colours (masking type “Comfort”). This will speed up significantly your image processing.

Very fine details such as hair can, according to requirements, be once more reworked for you if needed, as the paths created allow for a flexible method of working.

The service that we offer here currently includes the creation of individual paths and various other services involved with image processing. If you wish to order larger numbers of additional image processing services (colour correction etc.), please contact our Hotline at: Hotline@onlinemask.com. We will be pleased to try to find an appropriate solution for you.

1.3 REGISTRATION

1.3.1 ENTERING YOUR DETAILS UNDER „REGISTRATION“Please enter your details in the designated fields. The fields marked with * are mandatory and must be filled in. In order to be able to complete the registration process the acceptance of our General Terms and Conditions is required.

After you have entered your payment data, you can immediately order clipping, masking and other image processing services.If you wish to make use of vouchers without having entered your payment data you can only use the upload on the website (only the upload of images for clipping or masking is possible!). In order to be able to upload images via ftp / OnlineMASK-Sync you must in any case have entered your payment data.

1.3.2 STEP BY STEP REGISTRATION• Access the OnlineMASK website at: www.onlinemask.com• Choose your preferred language by clicking on one of the displayed flags• Click on „Login“

• Register now!• Text fields which are marked with * must be filled in• Regarding the checkbox “please send your email if the order is ready”: if you check the box you will

receive a notification message when your order is ready• By ticking the „Accept“ checkbox, you will be agreeing to the General Terms and Conditions• If you are a private user, you should not fill in the field marked “Company”• Companies must have a “VAT ID number”

the information given under “Vouchers” for the masking type relevant to the voucher you wish to redeem),

• Completely check your personal details: address, payment type etc.• Click on “New Order”• Then go to the “Upload” window

1.3.4 VAT-ID• Please state if a company name has been entered. If no company name has been entered it is

not necessary to enter a VAT number.• In case of doubt, the Tax Office will inform you regarding any VAT information.

2 DATA WHICH IS PROCESSED IN ONLINEMASK

2.1 FORMATS SUPPORTED• TIFF (8 bit colour depth), also possible: LZW compression• JPG• EPS (with JPG-compression)• PSD (only for image processing services)

2.2 IMPORTANT: WHAT IS NOT CURRENTLY SUPPORTED• Image formats other than those described in 2.1 (BMP, RAW, GIF etc.)• Alpha channels (Alpha masks)• Special and blank characters in file names / order names (these often cause problems when

using ftp)• File names longer than 250 characters / order names longer than 59 characters• No Zip Data for image editing or alpha masks• Limitation of max. datasize

3 UPLOADING ORDERS IN ONLINEMASK

uploads to OnlineMASK können can be carried out in three ways:• Website: particularly suitable as a testing methodology and for smaller quantities• OnlineMASK-Sync: suitable for the comfortable upload of small and larger quantities.• ftp-upload: transfer of large original files. Exclusively for image processing services or as an

alternative, if the operation of OnlineMASK-Sync is not possible.• The transfer methodology (e.g. ftp) must be the same for both uploading and downloading

For data transfers we recommend you to make use of our self-installing programOnlineMASK-Sync. Where the operation of the program is concerned it is important to enter any payment data in advance. You can find OnlineMASK-Sync under “Downloads” on the website www.onlinemask.com. In this way you will save time with respect to the transfer of your masking images, your data files will remain in your possession. Additionally the folders that you wish to monitor can be set up automatically with this tool, which will transfer your images automatically to OnlineMASK.

3.1 ACCESS VIA THE WEBSITEFollowing your successful registration and entry of your payment data on www.onlinemask.com, you can log on with your user name and password and order the masking required.

Under the menu item „Orders“ you can now specify the number of images desired and the order type, and simply select and upload your files.Your images will now be processed by our specialists. Under „Orders“ you can also track the processing status. When your order is ready you will receive a notification email and can simply download the processed images.In addition, here you also have the option to download masking images.

3.2 ONLINEMASK-SYNC

3.2.1 GENERALOur OnlineMASK-Sync program transfers a compressed masking image to OnlineMASK, while the original image remains on your Computer/Server. Consequently you save upon transmission time and your originals remain in your possession.The download of the OnlineMASK-Sync program can take place free of charge under „Down-loads“ on www.onlinemask.com. After the installation of the Java program (up to Java 1.6), which will work with both Windows and Macintosh versions, you can start immediately.You must be registered before starting, and must have entered all payment data.

3.2.2 FUNCTIONS OF THE ONLINEMASK-SYNC PROGRAM

Start the program and log on with your user name & password.

area of the Sync window or into the „Dropzone“. Zip files are not supported in this area.

Important:

Please note that a maximum of 50 images per order can be uploaded in order to guarantee a se-cure transfer.After the images are transferred onto OnlineMaSK-Sync the masking images are generated. Now select the type of masking in the drop down field. Clicking on „Synchronize All Jobs“ sends all the new images present in the window to be masked and also inserts the completed paths into the already processed images.„Synchronize Selected Jobs“ processes only the files that have been checked.

A new order can be created by selecting “New Job”. After clicking on it a window opens, so that a folder or a file can be specified. Orders can now be created from these files. These can now be sent for masking via „Synchronize All Jobs“/“Synchronize Selected Jobs.Presentation of the order on OnlineMaSK-Sync: main window

What always happens with OnlineMASK-Sync data transfersWhen your order is ready you will receive a confirmation email. Now click once more upon the „Synchronize“ button, so the paths can be transferred. The clipping and masking details (paths) will now be written back to the original images.

3.2.3 PROBLEMS WITH ONLINEMASK-SYNC SYNCHRONISATION

• ifOnlineMaSK-Synccannotwritebackthepaths(atextfieldisopenedwiththefollow-ing possible selections)

• Relink the paths: “Select other file to transfer paths to: Choose a file in order to write the path back to your original image. There are here three possi-ble selections: 1. “Choose directory of images: Choose the image directory in which the original images can be found. 2. “Download masked images in new directory: Store the masked images in a new directory. 3. “Attach each source image separately: Write the paths back to each original image separately.

• Download the masked images: “Download masked images (Please copy path into original picture afterwards): Download the masked images (Please copy the paths into original images afterwards).

• why paths cannot be written back (e.g.): Folders and / or images have been displaced

3.3 ACCESS VIA FTP

The ftp access transfers your original data to the OnlineMASK system. Consequently very long transfer times are occasionally involved. On the other hand our OnlineMASK-Sync transfers only the compressed masked images. However, you can transfer the images required for image processing exclusively by ftp to OnlineMASK.

Recommendation: If you need only masking services, use the ftp access only if operation of OnlineMASK-Sync is not possible on technical grounds.

You will automatically receive your personal ftp access, if you have entered your payment data upon registration. For this purpose please use the ftp program installed on your computer.

Your ftp access data are made up as follows:

Address: ftp.onlinemask.com User name: your user name Password: your password

Masking or image processing via ftp:Please open an installed ftp program and enter your access data. Connect yourself now to the server.

You will find three folders there:„In“ Place your data there (according to the required order type).„Failure“ folder for files containing errors„Out“ Here you can download your masked images after they have been processed

You can now upload the images that you wish to have processed in the „In“ folder in the appro-priate order folder (e.g. „Mask-Comfort“ or „Mask- Economy“). These masking orders are then automatically transferred to OnlineMASK and processed accordingly.Of course you can upload your images also as zip files, if the name of the zip file is the same as the order name. Please try if at all possible not to exceed the number of 50 images per order. If you wish to order more images at the same time, the upload of several order folders is recom-mended.When your order is ready you will receive a confirmation email and you can download the pro-cessed version of the images from the „Out“ folder via your ftp access.
