Online user journey for Philips Styleshaver
UAE / Saudi
March 2013
I’m in Dubai, UAE reading CPI financial. I see a large banner ad for Phililps Styleshaver so I click it
The URL says .ae but the call to action to buy seems to think I’m in saudi
Where to buy doesn’t take me to an online store, it makes me enter an address. But the box doesn’t even fit in the screen!
I enter Dubai, which fortunately returns local results, but look – a big pop up getting in the way! I just want to shop, not fill in a survey!
Why this is annoying
• It takes me 5 clicks from when I see the banner just to find out what stores in the UAE will sell the item. It doesn’t even tell me which is nearest to me
• During that time, I’ve had a CTA which isn’t geographically relevant, bad UX (box not fitting on page) and irrelevant info (website survey)
• All of these could contribute to massive user drop off rates
• WHY?!
Souq.com has the Philips styleshaver. Souq serves all markets in the region. Why not just do a campaign that drives to checkout on Souq??
