ONGERUP DARTS ASSOCIATION JERRAMUNGUP SPORTS CLUB
SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIPS 2016
The Singles Championship 2016 for the Ongerup Darts Association was proudly hosted by the Jerramungup Sports Club Team on Friday 29th July, with 16 players attending. A Big Thankyou to the Sports Club for hosting this event. It was a very interesting draw with our two top players (Dwayne Punch and Aubrey Roberts) playing off in the first game. The spectators where treated with a great game with Aubrey or known to us dart players as Doopy winning. He then went on to win all his games and eventually playing off against Carl Walker to take out the 2016 Singles
Champion. Congratulations Doopy. Not to be left out Dwayne (Punchy) went in to the plate and finally played off against his father Reg Hayward to come out the 2016 Singles Plate Winner. Highest peg of the night went to Greg Buxton on 91 and the Highest Score went to 3 players being Greg Buxton, Doopy and Darren Vickery. Congratulations to all winners. A Big thankyou to Ladies for the wonderful supper provided.
Ongerup Roadhouse update
Pallinup Pastoral PTY LTD wishes to advise that the settlement on their purchase of the Ongerup Roadhouse premises was
finalised on 3.8.2016. We are now in the position of being able to proceed with setting up a new 24 hour credit card, fuel
facility and hopefully finding a lessee to take on the running of a full roadhouse/Café operation.
We are happy to report that we have had expressions of interest from several parties interested in taking on the lease
and running of the whole roadhouse operation. Negotiations are continuing with these parties and there is a very good
chance that we could have a fully functional roadhouse/café prior to Christmas. Although Pallinup Pastoral had sufficient
capital on hand to fund the purchase of the Roadhouse premises, we still require extra capital to fund the purchase of the
card-fuel infrastructure and also some improvements are required inside the buildings. Whilst we are prepared to obtain
a bank loan to raise the extra funds required if necessary, it would be much preferred if we could raise some of the extra
capital from local sources. To this end we are still looking for new or past shareholders who may be in a position to
purchase units in the Pallinup Pastoral Trust. We also welcome any other contributions that community members wish to
make. We are happy to accept in the form of cash and /or produce. In the past unit holders in the Pallinup trust, have had
good return on their investment.
We believe that the Ongerup roadhouse is an integral and essential facility for the future health of our town. The
provision of fuel, takeaway food and sit down meals, is needed, not only for the local towns people, but also for the
passing tourist trade, contract truckies and seasonal farm workers at certain times of the year.
Anyone wanting more information on investing funds in the Pallinup Pastoral unit trust, can ring Graeme Jones, Mick
Creagh or Vicki O’Neill.
