The Prez Sez...
Hello turners.
Well November is here and those weather people are calling
for SNOW. For Joy.
Thank you to Jennifer and Dan Wilson for their discussion
on pen making. I have seen many of their pens and they are
all beauties.
This month’s demo will be Odell sharing his wood burning
talents. Odell Andersen will be discussing wood carving
(Birds) and wood burning. He would like to have a hand’s
on workshop of burning template patterns of objects on
slabs of wood he will supply to provide you with a trial of
how to burn patterns into wood successfully. He will have
12 work stations set up for use during his presentation.
Our December meeting will be our potluck, so be planning
to bring your favorite pot luck dish.
We will be having a discussion about replacing our 2 small
Jet mini lathes, with 2 Jet mini lathes that have variable
speed controls.
I hope you are all having a great fall season, and are plan-
ning your turned Christmas gifts.
See you Saturday at the meeting.

A reminder from our CRW Treasurer, John Griffiths
As a reminder, dues are $36 for regular members, $50 for couples/families and $25 for students and members 80
and over. You may mail them to me at 88 West 6th St, Buffalo City WI 54622. Any ques*ons, contact me by
phone, le+er or email. [email protected] 608-248-2782.
I would really appreciate ge0ng checks in the mail before the mee*ng, that means less paperwork and money to
account for the day a2er the mee*ng. But of course I'll take money at the mee*ng too.
There is a definite advantage to paying early. By doing so, you can sit back and have smug thoughts about how
superior you are when you read my future exhorta*ons about ge0ng dues paid!

From Duane Hill on The Craft Supplies group order and donations to the Empty Bowls I will not be able to attend the November meeting, due to some family issues. Because of that, I
have two requests for you.
First, regarding the club but with Craft Supplies. If you would like to participate and order, send me
an e-mail ([email protected]) with your name, phone number, and e-mail address. Include the
following for each item you wish to order? Part Number Price Catalog Page number Quantity desired.
Send no money now. You will be contacted with the amount you owe, based on club dis-
count. Please have all orders to me no later than November 24 and we will get them pro-
cessed. The plan is to have the order received by the December meeting.
If you wish to donate bowls to the Empty Bowl Project, either drop the bowl off to my house no earli-
er than November 23, or contact me for other arrangements. Typically, the Empty Bowl supper is
held early in December.
If you have any questions, you can call me at 608-783-0883 (home) or 608-397-9526 (cell) or e-
mail me at [email protected] prior to November 7. Thanks.

Thanks to all who brought bowls for the challenge last month. There was some very nice work there.
A few members picked up some log sections for more work later. That’s what it’s all about.
Our club was well-represented at the wood turning and wood carving expo in Eau Claire, both as
demonstrators on the floor, and as observers, just taking in all the sights.
