3 Modes:

+ Stand-alone Mode - The OnBase Mobile Healthcare app can be used as a stand-alone

companion to the OnBase Patient Window. When used as a stand-alone application, the OnBase Mobile Healthcare app provides medical staff with mobile access to patient records on Android and iOS devices. Medical staff can use the OnBase Mobile Healthcare app to view patient lists, search for patient records, create Unity Forms and Image Forms, and upload photos to a patient encounter using the mobile device’s camera.

- Additionally, when licensed for Clinical Consents, patients can complete and sign preconfigured packets of Unity Forms and Image Forms that have been assigned to the patient visit.



3 Modes:+ Integrated Mode

- The OnBase Mobile Healthcare app integrates with the Epic® Canto® and Haiku® apps in an Epic-integrated OnBase solution. The same functionality available in the stand-alone OnBase Mobile Healthcare application can be extended to an Epic-integrated OnBase solution by configuring buttons in Epic to allow users to perform OnBase-specific tasks from within the Epic Canto or Haiku app.

- This mode is enabled by selecting Integration for Epic when prompted to select an app mode.

- For information about using the OnBase Mobile Healthcare app in an Epic-integrated environment, refer to the Integration for Epic Canto and Epic Haiku module reference guide.



3 Modes:+ Patient Registration Mode

- In Patient Registration mode, the OnBase Mobile Healthcare app integrates with OnBase Front Office Scanning to present pre-configured Unity Forms and Image Forms for patients to sign on a mobile device. This mode is enabled by selecting Electronic Registration when prompted to select an app mode.

- Note: Due to the screen size limitations of smaller mobile devices, Patient Registration is only supported on Android tablets and iPads.

- Patient Registration functionality requires a Mobile eCapture license. A separate Mobile Applications Broker Server must also be configured for Patient Registration. For information about using and configuring Front Office Scanning for a Mobile eCapture Patient Registration solution, refer to the Mobile eCapture module reference guide.

- Form packets for Patient Registration are assigned using the Front Office Scanning application. For general information about using Front Office Scanning, refer to the Front Office Scanning module reference guide.

MOBILE BRIEFCASEMobile Briefcase allows traveling and field employees to take documents and forms offline to work with when they don’t have an internet connection.


MOBILE BREIFCASEAs of June 2018 Hyland has discontinued the sales of Mobile Briefcase and will be sunset in OnBase 18 for Windows and OnBase 19 for iPad. This means the last supported version for use with Windows tablet devices will be OnBase 17, and use with iPad will be OnBase 18.

Q: What was the driving decision to end support?

A: Hyland has decided to sunset the Mobile Briefcase product for the following reasons:• Low adoption rate: Hyland has not seen the desired adoption rate for a disconnected mobile client as currently implemented. The use cases for a disconnected client have changed

since the release of the Mobile Briefcase, and the product does not satisfy the newly identified use cases.• Cost to maintain: Mobile Briefcase requires constant maintenance work for both the Windows and iPad clients. Due to the low adoption rate, this maintenance cost does not provide

enough ROI.• Content Services Vision: Hyland is moving forward with the Content Services Vision, and we will be directing our resources towards the new vision for offline functionality that will be

identified by Product Management.

Q: What are the replacement options?

A: Hyland does not currently offer a direct replacement that supports disconnected document viewing, editing and creation on mobile devices. The Unity Briefcase offers similar functionalities on Windows Desktop. Customers migrating to the Unity Briefcase will need to acquire additional licenses. A migration path will not be provided. Hyland’s Content Services and Modernization efforts: as part of our Content Services and modernization efforts, we are developing our new Content Services platform with offline capabilities in mind.

MOBILE BREIFCASE

The OnBase Mobile Briefcase is a direct add-on to the OnBase Mobile 16, 17 and 18 apps for iPad that allows traveling and field employees to take documents and forms offline to work with when they don’t have an internet connection. Mobile Briefcase users can create and modify Unity Forms, add notes to documents and capture multi-page photos and images. This jump-starts processes that depend on offsite data collection, driving out delays that result from duplicate data entry or missed paperwork. When an internet connection becomes available, users simply synchronize offline documents back into OnBase triggering business process workflows.
