Melissa Tucker has accepted the position of Executive Director for the Batesville Area Cham-ber of Commerce as of August 2. “Melissa has always been passionate about our community, and we are thrilled to see what new programs and benefits she will bring to the Batesville Area Chamber,” stated Matt Tarkington, Chamber Board President.

Tricia Miller has accepted a position with the City of Batesville as the Community Develop-ment Director. The Chamber wishes Miller well and thanked her for her hard work over the past two years. She brought in many new ideas and worked diligently through COVID. “We look forward to continuing to work closely with Tricia in her new role and wish her the best,” noted Tarkington.

Melissa brings 20 plus years of chamber and community engagement experience through her roles in the community. She graduated from the Institute for Organizational Management through the U.S. Chamber in 2011 along with several other Chamber accreditations. She has served as the Chamber Manager from 2001-2003 and then took the position of Executive Director from 2003-2015. She took a short break from the Chamber and was the Community Engagement Director for the Southeastern Indiana YMCA. She then opened her own furniture store for a couple of years and volunteered with many or-ganizations. She recently served as the Chamber Marketing Director for the past year and a half.

Melissa has been selected to sit on the Indiana Chamber Executive Association Board (ICEA) again. ICEA stands firm on a solid foundation for developing a strong network of profession-als leading local chambers across Indiana. She is also on the Batesville Main Street Board as the Design Chair.

“I am excited to serve as the Executive Di-rector of the Batesville Area Chamber and look forward to working with all the businesses, organizations, and citizens in our community,” Melissa said.
