CURRICULAR GOALS & OBJECTIVES Identify a rational approach to the initial diagnosis and evaluation of patients with common cardiovascular conditions. Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

• Discuss the approaches to treating functional mitral regurgitation;

• Describe a rational approach to the use of noninvasive cardiac imaging based on clinical presentation and patient related factors; and

• Summarize the initial approach to diagnosis and treatment of congestive heart failure.

Describe contemporary management strategies for common cardiovascular conditions. Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

• Describe the management of atrial fibrillation, including prophylaxis of thromboembolism.

Interpret the occurrence, impact, and outcomes of common cardiovascular conditions. Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

• Describe contemporary data regarding revascularization in patients with stable coronary artery disease

• Discuss current approaches to primary prevention for coronary disease.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This course is designed for cardiologists, primary care physicians, and all healthcare professionals who evaluate and treat patients with cardiovascular conditions.
