  • T his booklet lists the 2017 concerts for Christmas on Temple Square. This years concerts include performances in the Tabernacle, the Assembly Hall, the North Visitors Center, the Church History Museum, the Conference Center, the lobby of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, and the lobby of the Church Office Building. In addition to these concerts, you can enjoy Tabernacle Choir broadcasts, organ recitals, guided tours, Christmas films, and a musical drama about Jesus Christ. Unless specified otherwise, all events listed in this booklet are free. For more information call 1-801-240-3323.

    Tabernacle Choir BroadcastsThe Mormon Tabernacle Choir broadcasts Music and the Spoken Word at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday in the Conference Center during the Christmas season (except November 26, which will be broadcast in the Tabernacle). Guests are welcome and should be seated by 9:15a.m. The public may also attend Tabernacle Choir rehearsals every Thursday at 7:30p.m. in the Conference Center (except December 14 and 28).

    Organ RecitalsThirty-minute organ recitals are given in the Tabernacle on weekdays and Saturdays at 12:00 noon and on Sundays at 2:00 p.m.

    Guided ToursComplimentary guided tours of Temple Squares buildings and grounds, as well as an explanation of basic Church beliefs, are available throughout the day and evening in many languages. The North and South Visitors Centers are open from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. every day.

    Savior of the WorldSavior of the World, a musical drama based on scriptural accounts of the birth and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, is presented at the Conference Center Theater (located in the northwest corner of the Conference Center). The musical runs from November 17 through December 30, Tuesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., with Saturday matinees at 2:00 p.m. The reserved ticket price is $10 for evening performances and matinees.     FilmsSeveral holiday films are shown in the North Visitors Center throughout the Christmas season. In the Legacy Theater at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building, you can view film segments of Meet the Mormons, which examines the diverse lives of several devout members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Additionally, two new films portray scenes from early Church history. For a film schedule, call 801-240-8945.

    Church History MuseumThe Church History Museum is open weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00p.m. This season the museum introduces Joseph Paul Vorst: A Retrospective opening November 9, 2017. Vorst was born in Essen, Germany, converted to the Church in 1924, and immigrated to the United States in 1930. His works cover two continents, two world wars, the Great Depression, and many natural disasters. Vorsts work was exhibited or collected by many well-known galleries and locations in the United States.
