The lug features a unique square shape insidethe barrel to accommodate solid sector shapes,and eliminates the need for pre-rounding ofstranded sectors.
Dulmison 4 core sector lugs allow 90° sectorshaped cable to be inserted in any of the fourpossible orientations. The assembly thenrequires a twist of no more than 45° forproper alignment. With conventional sectorlugs, a twist of up to 180° may be requiredand this is often difficult to achieve in aconfined space.
The lugs are compressed onto the cablesusing standard hexagonal dies ensuring thatthe barrel of the lug and the cable sector areproperly formed together. Comprehensivetests have been performed to ensure thatoptimum electrical contact and mechanicalproperties have been achieved.
