BPMN 2.0 Using BPMN for modelling business processes offers companies many advantages. Since it involves an internationally established standard, the notation supports a standardised procedure, regardless of tools or service providers. The diagrams are easy to understand and are therefore particularly well suited for communication between business departments and IT departments. This simplifies the identification of requirements considerably and leads to better quality, more rapidly available results. With BPMN you can model even complex processes clearly and, for example, add links to sub-processes.

In BPMN 2.0 the automation capacity of processes is already factored in, so that there are no breaks between the modelling and implementation of your business processes.

You can export the models as an XML-based .bpmn file or import existing models for further processing. The standardised exchange format gives you great flexibility. You can also export models as a graphics file, making it considerably easier to embed them in requirements documents.

In order to ensure that you can model your processes quickly and easily, the OMNITRACKER BPMN Modeler offers you many support functions. You can add and move all elements easily via drag & drop. Starting with one element you can add a follow-up element with the corresponding link with a single mouse click. You can align the individual elements quickly with each other with the help of reference lines.

Reference lines help you to align elements quickly.

Integration and automation Modelling your business processes in BPMN 2.0 is the first step towards automating your processes in OMNITRACKER. The OMNITRACKER BPMN Modeler is available from version 10.5 on. Thus you can model your processes today and automate them later in OMNITRACKER. In subsequent OMNITRACKER versions, process automation will be gradually expanded further. OMNITRACKER users will find all their pending tasks clearly structured in a central task list, regardless from which process the task originated. Based on certain rules and using the processes executed via the BPMN engine, new entries are automatically created for the task list. With the introduction of the BPMN engine you can execute the processes you have modelled in the OMNITRACKER BPMN Modeler automatically in OMNITRACKER. You can also automate third-party systems and, for example, create active directory accounts, reset passwords, create user accounts, or upload SharePoint documents from the BPMN models. You maintain control of your processes at all times and benefit from simplified, comprehensive process monitoring. This brings you ever closer to the objective of completely automated processes.
