Commodore’s Corner
As I write this letter, Milford is in the midst of the nicest weather of the season. Even though the unoffi-
cial end of summer is in view with Labor Day approaching, we have many events planned to help us hold
on to summer well into the fall.
We continue to have music on the deck on many Sundays. We have Bull Weber and the Titan Durty Band
making the Club the place to be on Sunday of Labor Day weekend. The Vice Commodore’s Summer con-
cert series continues with one of Milford’s most popular bands The Rum Runners on Sunday, September
18, 2016. In addition, after a one-year absence, Steve D’Agostino is back playing the Great American
Songbook on September 24, 2016. Chef David is preparing a great menu to go with each event. Please
be sure to make a reservation so you don’t miss out. Also, the guest chefs are back for a pasta night on
September 21, 2016.
August was a very busy month at MYC. The junior sailors and the swim team each celebrated the end of
their seasons with a banquet. The Milford Invitational was held and was well attended. Fleet Captain
Alan Liebnick, DDS, and his team of volunteers made the Regatta a weekend to remember. The Star Sail-
ors continued their series and the Summer of Sailing program ended their season with a competition. I
want to thank all the Club volunteers for making these events a success.
Again, I would ask that you continue to keep the Club in mind as you plan your holiday events or work
outings. All outside events contribute to the operation of the Club. Finally, please keep an eye on eblasts
for upcoming events. Please be sure that we have your current email so that you don’t miss out on any of
the Club events.
Many believe that September brings the best weather of the year,
