JAIPURIA INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT, LUCKNOW PGDM SECTIONS A, B & C ( THIRD TERM – 2013-14 ) OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT PROJECTS The following details are to be incorporated in the project, allotted to the group of students : Objectives : Following are the main objectives of the project : - To make a thorough study of the project’s objective. - To find out the production and operations practices related to the project. - To apply all possible factors and dimensions to arrive at best possible solution. - To encourage students to make use of their individual skills in learning, researching and analysing problems. Methodology : The project will last for 8 weeks, beginning 06.02.2014 Students are grouped into 6 people groups and are expected to do the project on a team-work basis. Each group will work on one specific problem, allotted to them. To make the project simple to students, tasks are allocated among 8 weeks. Week 1 : Sit together with your group members and prepare a work plan on the project. Week 2 : Fix up the meeting with your professor for preliminary discussions on the project. Week 3 : Collect all the information necessary for your project work and show it to your professor. Week 4-5 : Make your final action plan, act and keep informing the developments to your professor. Week 6 : Summarise your data and discuss with your professor. Week 7 : Finalise the data and give a shape to your project. Week 8 : Submission of Final report in Hard Copy form + Soft copy in Word and presentation in PPT form, on a CD. Each group should prepare a report on all works done and lessons learned in the project. Structure of the report is suggested to be like following. OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT PROJECTS

The following details are to be incorporated in the project, allotted to the group of students :

TOPIC:- DEMAND FORE CASTING OF ULTRA MODERN ALL FACILITY HOSPITAL IN LUCKNOW with its location planning.

Make an approach for the determination of the size of the hospital. Show all aspects of its need and visualize possible problems to run it efficiently.

- how are they different in definition and are they expected to be the same while practicing ?

3. Lessons learnt from the project ANKURGuidelines to analyse extraordinary cases :Way 1 : Read specifically about each case and analyse

Way 2 : Sit together and do brainstorming to find general ideas about how sector specific

organisation manage operations and how they are affected in practice.

While reporting to your faculty, all the members of the group are supposed to report together, otherwise they will be marked absent.

Reporting Days are : TIMINGMonday : Section ATuesday : Section B 2.00 – 5.00 P.M.Wednesday : Section C

Group members will arrange the appointment, with the person / organisation to be visited. In case of any problem, inform the faculty.

The project requires actual hand-on work on the specific topics allotted to the group. It will require personal repeated visits to the project related places. Hence, facts received from the site and various sources should be reported in the final report. Materials downloaded, collected and printed from the NET will have NO VALUE in the ASSESSMENT.
