Twitter, Fasting…OTC LIVING, 10th Anniversary, and Much More…

JUNE’S UPDATE: May was a great month! Our oldest son, Joe, graduated from high school. We are so proud of him, and I feel really old.

More importantly, a few weeks before he graduated, he was baptized. Praise God! That is so awesome! He is going to go to school at Columbia Hollywood where he will major in film. Designing board games has been his hobby, but film is his passion. He has been making movies ever since he was old enough to work a video camera.

10th Wedding Anniversary May was also mine and Lisa’s 10th anniversary. On May 29th we were married 10 wonderful years ago. Woo Hoo!!! It has been the best 10 years of my life and it has been my blessing to be married to the

greatest woman I have ever met! When we were back in the Midwest for our Joe’s graduation my in-laws through me and Lisa a surprise anniversary party! It was such a great party and we felt very loved and celebrated!

I love you Lisa! I thank God for you in my life. Happy 10th Anniversary!

We began our new series called Twitter…What are you doing? This series is giving us an opportunity to address whatever issues are happening in the OTC. If people are struggling with worry, we can talk about worry, or if they are mismanaging their money, we can talk about finances. So my staff and I dialogue about what our group really needs to learn about and design the gathering around that. It has been awesome! God is leading us to some really important topics and it really seems to be affecting our people positively. Praise God!

OTC LIVING Statistically, church attendance drops in the summer, and it is a phenomenon that happens across the country. Some call it the summer slump. Traveling, vacations, graduations, etc. It has hit us a little harder because we meet on Sunday nights when everything is happening. It bummed us out at first, but then God gave us a good perspective and we found joy and coming together and worshipping the true and living God, no

matter how many people were there or weren’t there. Also, God moved in us and we started thinking differently about how we wanted to reach people. We started something called, OTC Living…Live, Work, and Play Together. We decided we were going to meet people where they were at. We created a weekly schedule of events that we knew were popular to do in LA that we also loved and we invited people to join us. We Hike on Tuesday nights, Tennis on Wednesday afternoons, Golf on Thursday at noon, Surf on Friday mornings, and work out every weekday.

The idea is for us to live out our spiritual journey together. God does amazing things through community. Anybody can attend these events no matter where they are at on their spiritual journey. It has been beautiful to see ministry happen organically. God is so awesome! This is just the beginning. We want other people to start similar events and invite the people in their life to join them…you can do this too. What are you already doing in your life that you love, and that you can invite people to join you? We use Facebook to create events and invite people, and it has been working great.

FASTING I talked with Lisa about whether or not I should share this with you, but she really thought I should. The difficulty is my fear of coming across like I think I am really spiritual. I don’t. I am sharing this so you can support me in prayer. Because what I am doing cannot be done alone…I need your prayers. People on my prayer team are already privy to this information, so I am sharing with you what I shared with them. I have opportunities with some people in TV about a show that I am not able to share the details about. What is pertinent is that this show will give me a platform to talk about Jesus on TV. It has been in the works for quite sometime. Thus bringing about my current call to obedience. God has been talking to me for quite some time about fasting about this situation. I know some of you will not understand why I am doing this, and I partially don't understand, but feel called to do it. I believe part of this process is to prepare me for what God has for me. This is how God has worked in my life since I have been following Him. It is how He has wired me.

Today is day one of my fast. Here are the basics of what God has shown me so far. Joe's Fast - 26 days or until TV Show situation is resolved - Juice and Water only Fast My Part: Confess my sins. Ask the Lord to show me what I need to remove from my life, or start doing in my life. Ask the Lord to use me through Demon Stalkers on the Highest Level in Hollywood and Proclaim Him from the Highest Stages. Ask the Lord to use The OTC in the most Elite Circles. Each day have an additional focus for a friend or family member Pray for me as I seek the Lord through prayer and fasting these next 26 days or less. Pray that God grants my requests to be used by Him for His glory in the ways laid out in my fast. PS I know this isn't healthy (Thank you to all you who will be concerned). This is not a diet plan, this is me following as the Lord leads. :) This was my email with some details changed, and today is day five. God has already done great things in me. We came

out here to do His work in the places no one has been able to reach. Pray for me as I offer myself to Him that He might use me in those places for His purposes. Pray that He prepares me for what He has for me, and that He refines me over these next 26 days. Thank you!

OTC FILMS The OTC has purchased it's first TV quality Camera and Editing software to begin filming videos, dramas, short films, and webisodes. We determined that God has given us a lot of people in the entertainment industry and we are responsible to steward their gifts wisely. We felt God leading us to create media that will encourage and teach believers and or cause the world to consider Jesus as their Messiah. Sweet! We will post them on Facebook, Myspace, Youtube and Godtube. I will send emails so you can check them out. :)

SUPPORT UPDATE PRAY - BELIEVE 2009

In May 09 our support was $2160. PRAY God crushes us financially if that is what He needs to do to cause us to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength (I have said this a lot, but it is still true!). PRAY God allows us to get into a place that will increase our effectiveness for the kingdom, and lower our rent. We want to steward all of your support and God's resources wisely. PRAY God gets the OTC self sufficient by the end of 2009! PRAY for my Family too. That God would use the kids in the lives of their friends and at their school. That Lisa will be a light to the parents and in this community! In 2009 PRAY that God lowers our monthly bills and ups our support. Money has kept ministers and churches out of this area for years, but we refuse to let it stand in the way of the gospel. PRAY God provides for us.
