Phuket, ThailandWelcome to PhuketPhuket, a rainforested, mountainous island in the Andaman Sea, has some of Thailands most popular beaches, mostly situated along the clear waters of the western shore. The island is home to many high-end seaside resorts, spas and restaurants. Patong, the main town, has a more casual vibe and is filled with wild nightclubs, bars and discos.

the cool breezes keep things comfortable. The average temperature is around 75F to 89F (24C to 32C). Note that lately, as almost everywhere in the world, weather is unpredictable.

Health Insurance, Immunizations and PharmaciesThe following information was provided by Phuket International Hospital. While no one is suggesting that you take your health lightly, bear in mind the tendency for doctors to err on the side of caution.

Of course you should take some precautions before going abroad but beyond the basic preperations dictated by common sense, you will have very little to worry about in Phuket. For more information visit the website. www.phuket.com/health/health-info.htm

International Dialing CodesTo dial out of Thailand, you need to dial 001 + country code + the phone number you

want to call. Note you may need to omit the first 0 of the area dialling code for the number in your country. For more info visit the site: www.mydestination.com/phuket/usefulinfo/6176011/international-dialing-codes

Power AdapterElectricity in Thailand is 220 volts at 50hz which is compatible with devices sold in many countries. If you are coming from a country that is not compatible then you will need a voltage converter. These can usually be found amongt the travel accessories sold at airports though you will probably get them a lot cheaper by purchasing one locally before you travel.

Even if you do not need a voltage converter you will probably require plug adapters. Most electrical outlets in Thailand will fit a plug with either two horizontally opposed flat pins or two round pins in the same configuration.
