WE’RE HERE TO SUPPORT OLDER PEOPLE BY GIVING TIME AND PRACTICAL HELP

Royal Voluntary Service is one of the largest volunteer organisations in the country.

Our volunteers offer practical support and share time to help you get the best from life. We do this in ways that fit in with your lifestyle, needs and wishes. This could be anything from everyday help, like posting mail to popping round for a weekly chat and catch up. Just tell us what we can do for you and we’ll try and help.

We love sharing time with older people because it’s enjoyable, rewarding and inspiring for all of us, young and old.

BURT BUS

BURT assists older residents of Bromsgrove District who are unable to make essential journeys by conventional public transport, either because of personal mobility difficulties or because of the non-availability of a suitable service.

RURAL RIDES

Volunteers use their own cars to provide transport for older residents, helping them to manage travel to appointments and events.

PROFESSIONAL, CARING AND KIND We’re not a replacement for your family but we do offer warmth and kindness whilst delivering everything we do with professionalism and trustworthiness.

We want to help create a society where everyone feels valued and involved whatever their age - a place where you can enjoy the kind of old age you want and deserve so you can stay active, independent and continue to contribute to society.

GOOD NEIGHBOURS

The scheme is called Good Neighbours because our volunteers do the sorts of things that you might think of as being neighbourly; popping in for a cup of tea and a chat, changing a light bulb, or even helping with some shopping or a quick trip out to a local social club.

Personal care is not provided but we can offer a signposting service to other agencies where this is required.

All volunteers are DBS checked and carry ID. Exact services may vary across the region.

HOSPITAL SERVICES

We provide shop and cafe services in a number of hospitals, as well as an information point at Worcestershire Royal and services within the wards.

COMMUNITY CLUBS

Local details available on request.

OTHER SERVICES AND EVENTS

Please contact us regarding other services such as advice sessions, activities, events, legal surgeries on 01527 879 290

Please note that not all services are available in all areas, and that some are charged for.
