Profile:Kiyohito Tokuda (徳田 清仁) - Born in Ishikawa, Japan on December 13, 1957.- Received the B.E., M.E. and Dr. of Eng. degrees in electrical engineering from Hosei University in 1981, 1983 and 1996, respectively. - Joined Electronic and Communication Systems Laboratory, Research and Development Group, Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. in 1983. - Since then, I have engaged in research on the mobile data transmission technology and the signal processing technology. - General Manager of Wireless Technology Research & Development Division. - Lecture of Saitama National University & Hosei University in Japan- Current research interests include UWB, W-LAN and ITS.

Concept of AVC System
• Needs of driver and fellow passenger are “Comfortable” and “Safety” in addition to “Convenience” and “Amusement.”
• Improvement in “Safety” is indispensable in order to advance the conventional Telematics services which offers “ Comfortable”, “Convenience” and “Amusement.”
• To realize both “ Comfortable” and “Safety” requirements, DSRC-IVC system which took QoS into consideration to the maximum extent is effective.
• “Convenience” and “Amusement” services are also provided by DSRC-RVC
systems as well as mobile phone systems.
⇒AVC (Advanced Vehicle Communications) System integrated with DSRC-IVC and DSRC-RVC systems provides triple mode services(ETC, Information Shower, Safety).
