Activity 3 OH&S Forms You have administered first aid to Tim Gray from the warehouse one hour ago. He suffered a severe cut to the arm from a packing knife. You applied a bandage to the wound and called for an ambulance to take him to the hospital for further treatment. You also treated him for shock, as he was quite distressed at seeing a large amount of blood from his injury. Complete the following First Aid Register using the information in the paragraph above.

Activity 7 Work Words As a part of your employment induction you will be told about the Occupational Health and Safety aspects of your workplace and how these impact on your job and your safety. In the following scenario, Todd (new safety warden) is seeking advice on what to say in the case of an evacuation. Todd Excuse me, but I am not sure what to say in the event of an evacuation

when I am at my safety warden’s station? OH&S officer That’s Ok. First, it’s important to be calm and confident. You should always

give exact directions, as some people may be very scared and not thinking rationally. It is a good idea to point to the nearest fire exit and say, “Please proceed calmly and quickly to that fire exit and head across the car park to the muster area”.

At an emergency evacuation drill later that day…. Todd (Waving his arms) Quick!! Get out. Go to the muster area!

What did Todd do wrong? __________________________________ He repeats his instructions…. Todd: (Pointing to the fire exit) go quickly, across the car park to the muster area!

What did Todd do wrong? __________________________________ Imagine you are Todd, what would you do and say in this situation….. Write your words below _________________________________________________________________________
