The age of all dogs is calculated in calendar months from

midnight of the day preceding the date of birth to the first

day of the Sanctioned event. DEFINITION OF CLASSES:

CONFORMATION

1. Baby Puppy - Dogs of three (3) and under six (6) months of age. 2. Minor Puppy - Dogs of six (6) and under nine (9) months of age. 3. Puppy - Dogs of six (6) and under twelve (12) months of age. 4. Junior - Dogs of nine (9) and under eighteen (18) months of age. 5. Intermediate - Dogs of eighteen (18) and under Thirty six (36) months of age. 6. Novice - Dogs of six (6) months of age or overwhich have notwon a first prize at any Parade,Open or Championship show excluding wins in baby Puppy. 7. Graduate - Dogs of six (6) months of age or over which have not won a Challenge Certificate. 8. Limit - Dogs over twelve (12) months of age which are notChampions nor have gained sufficient points to qualify as a Champion. Note:The qualifications for the NOVICE, GRADUATE and LIMIT classes, shall only include "wins up to and including the day before the date of entry close". 9. State Bred - Dogs six (6) months of age or over whelped in the State or Territory in which it is exhibited. 10. Australian Bred - Dogs six (6) months of age or over whelped in Australia. 11. Open - All dogs six (6) months of age or over, and of a breed or variety recognised by the Australian National Kennel Council.

Note: Only winners of Ordinary Classes 2 to 11 may compete for Challenge Certificates. 12. Veteran – 7 years and over 13. Veteran – 10 years and over Neutered exhibits maycompete in Veteran Class. Note : Veteran – Entire dogs or bitches entered in the Veteran Class at Shows, other than All Breeds or Group Club Shows, are approved to compete for Challenge Certificates at that Show. 18. Open Neuter – for neuter dogs and bitches aged six (6) months or over. Note 1: Classes 15-18 are ineligible to compete against entire exhibits for Challenge Certificates or Best or Breed. Note 2: Classes 15, 16, 17 & 18 shall be optional Classes at any ANKC Ltd official show.

Community Companion Dog - For dogs, six months of age or over, and of either sex which are not eligible for the title of ‘Community Companion Dog’ (C.C.D.). Under no circumstances except where an application for a C.C.D. Title has been rejected on a technicality, shall a dog, which has gained a qualifying score in a Novice Class, be eligible to compete in the Community Companion Dog Class. A dog is not permitted to compete in the Community Companion Dog Class and a Novice Class at the same trial. Novice - For dogs, six months of age or over, and of either sex which are not eligible for the title of ‘Companion Dog' (C.D.). Under no circumstances except where an application for a C.D. Title has been rejected on a technicality, shall a dog which has competed in an Open Class be eligible to compete in the Novice Class.
