The 8th Edition of SPE Student Chapter Annual Contest "Constantin Ghe.Popa " is part of

SPE Romanian Section Technical Program 2015-2016 and will be held on 22nd October, 2015

at Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiesti, Romania

The Forum will include following events:

Presentation on the latest technologies of Oil & Gas Industry brought by leading companies’

representatives.

Student Applied Petroleum Technology Paper Contest General provisions

1. Student Conference – Applied Petroleum Technology Paper Contest will be held on October 22, 2015. The venue is the

Building of Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiesti Romania, 39 Bucharest Bvd, Ploiesti.

2. The conference includes the following sections:

Section I: Geology. Geophysics. Exploration;

Section II: Drilling and Completions;

Section III. Production and Reservoir Management;

Section IV: Transportation and Storage of Oil & Gas;

3. Author(-s) can present not more than one project on the conference.

4. The work is represented by one or two students.

5. The mandatory requirement is the presence of a scientific adviser.

6. Working languages: English.

7. Thesis should be adjusted according to requirement 1 listed below.

8. Bachelor and master degree/graduate students of any country can participate in the conference.

9. For participating in the conference you need to fill an application form and to send to the address pointed out below; in

the theme gap write your full name and the name of your university.

10. Selection of the applications and the best works will be conducted by leading professors of the Petroleum Gas

University of Ploiesti and the oil companies’ representatives.

11. Speech time – 15 minutes. Time for questions – 5 minutes. A project must be accompanied with presentation

(Microsoft Office PowerPoint)

12. It is necessary to send an electronic version of the report and presentation to the address (on CD-disc) or by e-mail not

later than September 23rd, 2015.

13. Invitations to selected participants will be sent not later than the 1st of October,2015.

14. Winners will be determined in all sections by according 3 places.

Requirement 1.

Paper preparation

Paper is presented in one language (English). The volume shouldn’t be larger than 2 A4 pages.

Text format: Microsoft Office Word (completion doc, docx). Sheet format: А4 (210х297), margins 5

сm – top, bottom, right, 3 сm – left, point size 12, Times New Roman (English language),

Thesis structure (every point is arranged on separate line):

1. University name.

2. Project name (Extrabold).

3. Surname, given name, middle name of the author (if there are two authors, surname, given name

and middle name of the second participant should be on a separate line).

4. Author’s E-mail

5. Surname, given name, middle name and scientific degree of a scientific adviser.

6. Text.

7. In the paper determine the value and relevance of the work, its nature (research or expository),

explain the novelty and describe the calculations, analysis or experiments.

8. List of sources.
