to the provisionsof Rules on Inland Tra-vellingExpenses.

Paragraph 4, article 1, will be re-

vised as follows:

4. If one-way distance is more than

one hundred kilometers and the travel is

made by the linewhere express train fares

are asked for payment, those faresneces-

sary for the travel will be paid. How-

ever, if one gets on express train by

specialreasons, express train fares willbe

paid.

The term " Soninkan and above"

and " Hanninkan " in paragraph 1, article

2, willbe respectivelyreplaced by " second

rank officialand above " and " third rank

official".

Art. 2. Following amendments willbe made

to the provisions of Rules on OverseasTravelling Expenses.

The term " Chokuninkan and above "

in paragraph 2, article4, and paragraph 1,

article6, will be replaced by " the first

rank officialand above".

The " Chokuninkan " " Soninkan " and

" Hanninkan " willbe respectivelyreplaced

by " the first,second and third rank

official".

Art. 3. The following amendments will be

made to the provision of Rules on Travel-ling Expenses of South Sea Mandated Is-

lands and Kwantung Leased Territories

and Manchuria.

The terms " Haninkan and above " and

" Hanninkan" in paragraph 1, article3,

willbe respectivelyreplaced by "the se-

cond rank officialand above " and " the

thirdrank official".

Supplementary provision:

The present ordinance will be applied to

the travel made after April 1, 1946.

State, Prefectures and or Other Local Public

Organization and Others"

tions and Others".In Article1, Paragraph 1, " expense stated

" use " shallread " payment" and " expense "

shallread "expense and others".

In Article 2, " expense" shall read " ex-

pense and others".

Article3 shallread as follows:

In case,annual revenue and return amount

or money in custody and deposit money are

paid on checks or postal order receiptspur-

suant to the provisions of Article 2 of "En-

forcement Regulations of FinancialEmergency

Measures Ordinance" to the cash-revenuein-

stitutionof State,Prefectures and other Local

Public Organizations,they shallbe accepted.

Article4 shallread as follows:

The Law No. 10 of 1915 and correspond-

ing Ordinances shall apply to the case of

acceptance of annual revenue stated in the

preceding article.

Acceptance of return amount and amount

in custody or deposit money shallbe disposed

of according to the provisions of the Law and

Ordinances mentioned above.

Education Ministry will be revised as follows:

and receives an annual salary exceeding 1820

yen" is deleted. No. 4 of the same articleis

to "2420 yen", "one year" to "two months".

office,appointed to a new office,or engaged in

a governmental office in the capacity of a

non-regular officialor an employee, thereby

entering the Association again the Considera-

tion for that month need not to be paid

again.

In No. I of Paragraph 1 of Article

XXXIX, "including wives informally married "

is changed to "including those who are prac-

tically,though not legally,married".

In Paragraph 2 of Article XLIII, " No. 4―

No. 6" is changed to "No. 5 and No. 6", and

Paragraph 3 of the same article is crossed

out. Article XLVIII crossed out.

Article L

(a) Despite the provision of the preceding

two articles, the present article could be ap-

plied in exceptional cases when attended with

justifying circumstances, provided that the

Association should succeed in getting the con-

sent of public hospitals.

" Clause No. Ill The allowances for illness

and injury, for funeral and burial, and for the

periods immediately before and during the

child-birtheither of oneself or one's wife," is

changed to "Clause No. Ill The allowances

for illness and injury, for funeral and burial,

for the periods immediately before and during

the child-birtheither of oneself or one's wife,

and for bringing up the new-born baby".

Article LVI.

(b) When a member of the Association or

the wife of a member (including those who

are married practically, though not legally)

gives birth to a baby (excepting, however, a

still-bornchild),the allowances for its upbring-

ing will be given for six months starting from

the date of its birth, at the rate of ten yen a

month, and in case the period is short of a

month, it will be counted as one month.

The said allowances wjll be also be given

when an ex-member gives birth to a baby

within six months of her withdrawal from the

, Association, and in the case of an ex-member

who has been receiving them some time before

her withdrawal will continue to enjoy the

privilege till the expiration of the officialsix

months.

Article LVJl "(the allowances for) the

period during the child-birth" is changed to

"(the allowances for) the period during the

child-birth and for its upbringing."

Chapter V is changed to Chapter VI.

Chapter VI to Chapter VII, Chapter VII to.

Chapter VIII, Chapter VIII to Chapter IX.

War-time Special Provisions.

Article LVII.

(b) When a member who does not fall

under the cate gory of a public employee or

one of a similar description which is set forth

in the Pension Law, as well as one to whom

similar interpretation can be extended as to

his or her capacity, got wounded or ill from

such causes as enumerated in (b) of Article

XXXI, and consequently has become crippled

or died, or has had one's property either burnt

completely or partly damaged, the Association

will pay, by way of the Special Allowances

for Wartime Damages and Injuries, the annual

or one-time allowances for injuries sustained

while in the performance of officialduties,the

annual allowances for the decease of a member

who died while in the performance of official

duties, the annual allowances to the family of

the deceased, or the gift of condolence to the

same.

The detailed rules in applying the fore-

going regulations concerning the payment will

be made by the Education Minister.

Supplement:

The present Ordinance comes into effect

on the date of its promulgation. However, the

revised provision set forth in Chapter V will

be applied as for back as Dec. 8. 1941 onwards.
