MORGAN HISTORY AWARD,

reestablished as a reunion initiative by

members of the Class of 1965 in honor

of their 50th reunion, will annually

produce a grant to a rising junior or

senior who has demonstrated a natural

affinity for history.

Continuing a legacy of accessible education for future generations of students was made possible this year by the creation of three newly endowed scholarships by donors who understand the vital importance of financial aid and scholarship.

“Ashley Hall becoming the first independent school in the Lowcountry to reach

a $1 million annual fund demonstrates the strong culture of philanthropy of our

wonderful community. People always ask why I chose my career. I immediately

tell them that it’s amazing to wake up each morning with purpose and passion,

knowing my efforts impact our girls everyday in a myriad of ways whether it is

indirectly through fundraising or directly on the soccer field. One day, if I have

children, I will be assured that I have been a part of laying the foundation for

the future women leaders they will want to emulate. I am so proud to be a part of

Ashley Hall’s community that has provided so many opportunities for these girls as

ASHLEY HALL understands that its alumnae will be part of an ever integrated world, and therefore must prepare its students to act effectively as world citizens. With this in mind, Ashley Hall initiated a comprehensive Global Studies Program to build curricula supportive of imbuing in our students and community a more “worldly” perspective and establishing an international boarding program to bring students from around the world to attend Ashley Hall, making daily engagement with young women of diverse perspectives, cultures, customs,

and languages possible for all students. Ashley Hall purchased a magnificent house at 179 Rutledge Avenue (adjacent to the campus) to serve as the home of this program and in 2013 began a $4,500,000 campaign to purchase the building, renovate the facility, support curricular and professional development initiatives within the Global Studies Program, and create a restricted fund for the long-term care and maintenance of the property. To date, the generous Ashley Hall community has committed almost $3.5 million to this critical initiative.
