Oakland University provides travel

insurance coverage for all faculty,

staff and students who journey

overseas for work or study.Note: Coverage will be provided for the work or study related dates only. Any personal travel pre/post trip is not included.

Pre-Travel requiremenTs1. 14 Days Prior to Departure

Go to the Office of Risk Management website at oakland.edu/riskmanagement/foreigntravel/ and complete the online Foreign Travel Registration Form.

2. Print Identification Card Registered travelers will receive an e-mail confirmation that includes a printable identification card and important emergency contact numbers.

3. Visit www.mercertravelassist.com Register online for access to the Mercer Campus Travel’s Assistance Portal. Instructions are provided inside this brochure. Registered travelers will have access to useful information and tools before and during their trip abroad.

mercer camPus Travel’s assisTance PorTalMercer Campus Travel Assistance Services Portal provides 24/7 access for emergency assistance when you are traveling abroad.

The site contains real-time destination-based health, security and travel related information including:

n Country and city risk ratings and profiles

n Health, medical, safety and security reports per locale

n Consulate contacts

n Information on business conduct, transportation, holidays, currency exchange rates, etc.

n News and real time security alerts

n General travel tips

n Travel tips including cultural, environmental and financial information

A variety of tools have also been integrated within the portal to minimize inconvenience during trips and support travelers in an emergency. These include:

n Medical provider search to look up hospitals and doctors in a given locale

n International calling code search and access to the code to dial from one country to another

n Emergency number look up for finding the foreign equivalent of 911

n Health requirements for your destination and transit points

How To regisTer and access THe mercer camPus Travel assisTance services PorTalGo to www.mercertravelassist.com enter the USERNAME and PASSWORD listed below. This will take you to a registration form where you will enter your Oakland University email address along with your first and last name.
