May 27-28Ascension of the LordOn this Sunday, we hear the call given to all of us to “proclaim the Gospel to every creature.” We are called and empowered by the grace of the sac-raments to speak Good News and be Good News to others. If we do so we can drive out the demons of division, apathy, racism, despair and violence with our new language of love, com-mitment, community, hope and peace. Armed with God’s justice and mercy we will give witness to human life and dignity, care for the poor and for creation, in solidarity with all across the globe so that the sickness of our fractured world can be healed. What Good News will you speak this week?

En este domingo, escuchamos nuestro llamado a “proclamar el Evangelio a toda criatura”. Somos llamados y se nos da el poder por la gracia de los sacramentos de anunciar la Buena Nueva y de ser la Buena Nueva para otros. Si lo hacemos así, podemos sacar los demonios de la división, la apatía, el racismo, la desesperación y la violencia a través de nuestro nuevo lenguaje de amor, compromiso, co-munidad, esperanza y paz. Armados con la justicia y la misericordia de Dios, daremos testimonio de vida humana y dignidad, del cuidado de los pobres y de la creación, en solidaridad
con todos alrededor del globo de manera que la enfermedad de nuestro mundo fracturado pueda ser sanada ¿Qué Buena Nueva dará usted esta semana?

Dear parishioners,The month of May is drawing to a close. The Easter Season as
well will come to an end next Sunday, Pentecost.Each month has a special designation in our Catholic tradition.
June is dedicated to the attainment of the virtues of peace of mind and sincerity. If we strive for sincerity, truthfulness, honesty and fairness and try to moderate our passions and emotions and if we are intent on doing the holy will of God then we will have peace of mind. Also, the month of June is for devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The special commemoration of this devotion is on Friday, June 23.
We can begin, even now to direct the attention of our spiritual life to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
My Loving Jesus, out of the grateful love I bear to You and to make atonement for my unfaithfulness to your grace, I give to You my heart. I consecrate myself completely to You and I promise to sin no more. Amen.
******The priests of the Diocese will gather at the summer convoca-
tion this week. Two convocations are held each year, in the fall and the summer. The purpose of these days together is for the priests to strengthen the bond of fraternity and to receive information from our Bishop about the administration of the parishes. For this reason, Communion Services are scheduled for several days this week. Please note the bulletin segment labeled “Mass Intentions” for this schedule.
Beginning Monday, May 29th, the daily Mass will move from the church to the chapel.

Queridos Feligreses,El mes de mayo está llegando a su fin. Al igual, la temporada Pascual
termina el próximo domingo, en Pentecostés.En nuestra tradición Católica se le dedica una designación especial
a cada mes. El mes de junio es dedicado a la realización de las virtudes de la paz mental y la sinceridad. Si buscamos la sinceridad, veracidad, honestidad e imparcialidad y tratamos de moderar nuestras pasiones y emociones y si estamos decididos a hacer la Santa voluntad de Dios, ten-dremos paz mental. Además, el mes de junio se dedica a la devoción del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús. La conmemoración especial de esta devoción se celebra el viernes, 23 de junio.
Incluso hoy, podemos empezar a dirigir la atención de nuestra vida espiritual, al Sagrado Corazón de Jesús.
Mi Jesús amoroso, del amor agradecido que te guardo a Ti y para hacer expiación por mi infidelidad a Tu gracia; te doy mi corazón. Me consagro totalmente a Ti y prometo no pecar más. Amén.
******Esta semana los sacerdotes de la Diócesis se reunirán en la convocatoria
de verano. Hay dos convocatorias cada año, en el otoño y el verano. El propósito de la reunión en estos días es para que los sacerdotes fortalez-can el vínculo de la fraternidad y para recibir información de nuestro Obispo sobre la administración de las parroquias. Por esta razón se han programado Servicios de Comunión durante varios días esta semana. Tome en cuenta el segmento “Mass Intentions” con este programa en el boletín.
Comenzando el lunes, 29 de mayo, la Misas diarias se celebrarán en la Capilla y no en la Iglesia.

2017 Holy Cross Festival /Festival Santa Cruz 2017September 16-17
Raffle tickets for our annual Holy Cross Festival will be distrib-uted after all Masses this weekend through Father’s Day week-end. All parishioners are asked to pick up their raffle tickets from the raffle table in the portico. Raffle tickets may also be picked up at the school office.
We’re asking all families to sell a minimum of $30 in raffle tickets. Please contact the Holy Cross Festival committee at: [email protected] with any questions about the festival.

Pre-Registration for all families who are currently participating in Religious Education will begin soon! No registrations will be taken during Religious Education classes. Your RE fees must be paid/cur-rent and your child must be actively participating in classes, in order to register for next year. Spaces will fill quickly, so watch the bulletin, check your email and make sure you come by when we begin pre-registering! Registration for families who did not participate in RE this year, will open in August.

2017 Texas Alliance Walk for LifeIt’s that time again—the Pro-Life Committee will sponsor Fr. David in the Texas Alliance for Life Walk for Life on Saturday June 17, 2017. The committee will be asking for pledges on the week-end of June 3rd and June 4th at the Narthex. Every year Santa Cruz has pledged over $5,000.00 for Texas Alliance for Life. The Rosary Makers monthly meeting will be held on Friday, June 2nd at 2:00 p.m. Please note that the room has changed: We will meet in the Knight of Columbus Room due to maintenance work scheduled in the Youth Room.

Together Encounter Christ (TEC)TEC Retreat TEC (Together Encounter Christ) is an intergenerational movement focused on the Paschal Mystery of Jesus Christ. TEC is a high energy and spirit filled retreat where young adults explore and deepen their faith. Weekends are filled with witness talks, group discussions, personal reflections/prayer, recreations and live music. The TEC retreat is for young adults ages 17 (or a 2nd semester junior) and up.
TEC of Central Texas is a 3-day retreat hosted at Eagles Wings Retreat Center. You will experi-ence a fresh, faith-filled atmosphere away from home, school, and/or work. Retreat participants meet, reflect, and share how they see themselves, their ideals, and their hopes/dreams while finding God’s presence in their life.
