CALLING OF JOINT SITTING OF PARLIAMENT

In terms of section 84(2)(d) of the Constitution of the Republic of

South Africa, 1996, read with Rule 7(1) (a) of the Joint Rules of

Parliament, the President of the Republic of South Africa has called a

joint sitting of the National Assembly and the National Council of

Provinces on Friday, 16 February 2018 at 19:00, in order to deliver his

State-of-the-Nation Address to Parliament.

CALLING OF JOINT SITTING OF PARLIAMENT

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Ms B Mbete, and the

Chairperson of the National Council of Provinces, Ms T R Modise, in

terms of Joint Rule 7(2), have called a joint sitting of the Houses of

Parliament to conduct a debate on the President’s State-of-the-Nation

Address on 19 February 2018 at 10:00, and the President will reply to

the debate on 20 February at 14:00.

President of the Republic, Mr J G Zuma, informing members of the Assembly that he has tendered his resignation as President of the Republic of South Africa with immediate effect as per President Act, No 24.
